The man who just got saved by the now unconscious Witcher put Geralt into the waggon. His head was on some bales of hay. Said man opened his eyes, looking disorientated around. Everything around him was muffled and blurry. "You're delirious but not dead." The old man said to Geralt who couldn't quite form a sentence nor could he identify the words out of the sentence that has been said. Geralt's eyes were wide open, looking at the sky, he was hallucinating from the poison and the pain in his leg. If he wasn't mutated he would have been dead a few minutes after the bite already.

He wanted to sit up or even get out of the waggon. "Hey, come now, be still, I said." The man put a hand on Geralt's shoulder to stop him from his silly actions. "We're going to my farm." he said but Geralt's head hurt. He squirmed his eyes close and tried to keep them open in some kind of way. "Just as soon as these poor old horses can take us there. You must stay awake, though." Geralt's eyes rolled back, almost drifting off again. "Butcher, you hear me? Don't you go to sleep now, whatever you do!"

"Ma?" a boy with a bucket on his head asked. "Ma?" he asked again, walking through the dark room. "Ma?" he shouted again, being afraid. The boy took a stick from the box, in which was the firewood and pointed the stick in front of him, holding it like a sword. "Back, you beast. I'll kill you and take your treasure." the boy exclaimed whose mother finally got into sight. "Do not fear, Princess." he said as he looked at her. "Dinner time." she said monotone ending the game of the boy. He followed his mother to eat dinner with her. "Someday I'll make you a necklace of dragon teeth. The prettiest necklace ever." the boy said happily, putting down his stick and the bucket from his head. "No." the woman grunted. "We must live and let live." she said putting down the food on the table. "What's that mean?" he asked while he sat down at the table. "It's our code."

Geralt's eyes fell close again and the driver of the carriage shook him by the shoulder. "Hey, Butcher!" he shouted but his eyes were closing again.

"We have to cling to something. If we don't, the world descends into chaos." the boy's mother explained to him sitting down across from him, smiling a little.

"Ma..." Geralt mumbled and his eyes shot open, trying to get up. He tried to roll to the side and get out of the waggon. "Whoa." the man said and brought the horses to a halt. "Hey, don't you move." He said and walked over to look at Geralt. He pointed at the horizon. "What's that?" the Witcher asked about the smoke coming from there. "Well, from the direction, I would say that Nilfgaard has made it to Sodden. Take Sodden, you may take the North, some say." The man said then grabbing Geralt's leg to get a closer look. "Ye gods, that looks hideous." he said. Geralt groaned in pain pushing off the man's hand. He sat up, not needing the 'pillow' anymore. "Fuck..." he said. "My bag..." he mumbled but the man started to look around. Geralt grabbed his collar. "My bag!" he demanded. The farmer, so he seemed to be since he got a farm, took a bag from the waggon. "This? Here." and handed it towards its owner.

He took out a potion; Black Blood, through which necrophages and vampires attacks get neutralized. He drank it and poured the rest of it onto his wound. "Take me to the Blue Mountains." Geralt said panting from pain. "That's the other side of Sodden. It's impossible, you'll die." the man exclaimed. Geralt fell back onto bales of hay. "He'll save me..." he said and got nearly unconscious again. "Who? Hey! Wake up! Hey, wake up!" The man shouted at Geralt, pushing his shoulder. "Stay awake, you bastard!" he demanded and sat back up, to continue the ride. "I need... to go home."

"What's at the edge of the world?" the boy asked his mother with whom he was going into another village by carriage, the boy laid just as Geralt now in a carriage. "If we go past it, do we fall off the world?" he asked, looking at the sky, his head in the hay. "Where do we fall? Into another sphere? How many spheres are there? Do you have any food?" he asked lots of questions. The boy sat up, just like Geralt did now.

"Lay still!" The man demanded, trying to push him back down, but he was stronger than him and the farmer only used one hand.

"Is there food in other spheres?" he asked as he received an apple from his mother to eat. The boy laughed as he grabbed it. "And after the edge of the world, let's go to Lyria and Rivia and Vengerberg!" the boy shouted and stood up. "Stop." the mother said to stop her son from yelling. "And never stop." the boy said but the mother stopped the carriage. "I need water. Go! Fetch it for me." she said and nodded at the bucket. The boy jumped from the carriage and took the bucket. With that, he ran towards the little stream. He filled said bucket and ran back to his mother. The carriage and his mother were both gone. "Ma? Ma! Visenna?" the boy shouted looking for his mother.

Geralt shook his head. "Ma! Ma!" he yelled like a whisper, breathing heavily.

"Geralt, I've been waiting for you." An old man said that approached the young boy.

"Vesemir..." Geralt mumbled.

The young boy let the bucket fall to the ground, making the water splash out of it and ran from the old man. "Ma!" the boy said and ran in the direction in which his mother was going.
