After my talk with Nick, the two of us headed back to the cafeteria to finish our meals. We waited for Clay and George but, they were taking a while.-GEORGE's POV-
Clay brought me to an empty classroom and shut the door behind him.I could feel my palms sweat from how nervous I was. I knew he was going to talk to me about Y/N.
GEORGE:
"W—What's up...?" I asked nervously while scratching the back of my head.Clay took a deep breath out.
CLAY:
"I need to tell you something."I gulped nervously with a nod.
CLAY:
"Your mom has been home..."My eyebrows rose as my eyes widened, caught off guard by what he said.
CLAY:
"After the party when you spent the night...I saw her in your room and she was crying while holding onto your sweater...I didn't think it was that important so I didn't tell you but then...I saw she was still in there in the morning, the afternoon...she's been in your room the whole time, George..."My heart dropped a little as I frowned.
CLAY:
"She hasn't gone into work ever since she heard that you went missing...but...don't let this influence your decision at all. They were assholes to you and you were miserable because of them. I just told you now so you can make the decision to go back or not..."I nodded slowly, staring hard at the carpet.
CLAY:
"So...what're you thinking right now...?"I swallowed hard and slowly met his gaze.
GEORGE:
"I'm thinking that...you don't love something until it's gone...you don't appreciate what was there when you had the chance...I'm not going home..."Clay's eyebrows rose as he nodded in understanding.
CLAY:
"That's understandable...just wanted you to know." He shrugged.GEORGE:
"Thanks for telling me..."CLAY:
"No problem." He lightly smiled, "So...what did Y/N have to talk to you about?"I met his gaze.
GEORGE:
"Nothing..." I lied with a light smile, "Just homework stuff..."CLAY:
"Oh..." He nodded with an unsure expression.GEORGE:
"We should get back to lunch." I raised my eyebrows and he nodded, following me out of the classroom to the cafeteria.-Y/N's POV-
Once Clay and George came back, we all talked about our clubs that we had after school. George and I had Math Club but, the Cooking Club group chat moved the meet to today instead of Thursday since another event was going on in the cooking classroom that day. So, George said it was okay that Clay and I go to Cooking Club instead of me going to Math Club with him.I knew George only let me go so I could tell Clay the truth about my feelings but, Clay and I have never been to Cooking Club since of all the craziness that's been happening in our lives. I knew that I could tell him then.
The rest of the day went by fast like usual and soon, it was time for Cooking Club with Clay. It was also time for me to confess my feelings after all this time.
I rehearsed what I was gonna say several times in my head while walking to the cooking classroom.
"Okay...so we've been friends for a while and I've had a crush on you since...no..." I thought while biting my nail slightly, "I love you so much but the thing is..."
