-Y/N's POV-
There were far too many groceries. My jaw literally dropped by seeing how many groceries they bought. Clay and George soon explained why they bought so many, and all it made me do was roll my eyes with a smile.

It took a fat minute, but the groceries were finally put away. Since it was now around dinner time, Clay decided to cook us some pasta with breadsticks, which made my stomach growl in anticipation.

While we waited, George, Nick and I watched TV as Clay watched slightly from the kitchen as he cooked.

Once dinner was done, Clay served it onto plates for all of us, then we sat down next to each other on the stools at the kitchen island. Shortly, we took bites of our food.

Y/N:
"Oh my gosh, Clay. I don't know what you do, but this pasta never tastes the same whenever I make it." I took another delicious bite.

CLAY:
"I have the magic touch."

GEORGE:
"Love—" His eyes widened as he smiled with his jaw dropped, making us laugh.

NICK:
"After this, I might head home."

GEORGE:
"Same. I have to make up all the work I missed today."

It hit me that George missed school today. Knowing what his parents were like, it gave me a little bit of anxiety.

Y/N:
"Wait—do your parents know you skipped school today?"

GEORGE:
"Yep." He raised his eyebrows, "They saw Clay and I leaving for the grocery store."

Y/N:
"Oh, what did they say?"

GEORGE:
"My mum said she was fine with it, and my dad didn't say anything." He shrugged.

I released the breath I was holding.

Y/N:
"Good. That's good that they didn't say anything bad about it."

He nodded with a smile.

Shortly, the conversation moved to another topic. I ended up telling George and Clay what I told Nick earlier, about how I would go on dates with them still, just whenever I wanted to. Thankfully, they both understood and were cool with it.

After the 4 of us ate our dinner, George left to go next door to his house to do his schoolwork, meanwhile, Clay drove Nick home while I stayed at Clay's house, home alone.

Since I was home alone in the quiet house, I gazed around and took a deep breath, enjoying the silence.

A meow soon caught my attention. I shot my head down to see Patches rubbing her body against my leg while letting out another meow.

My eyes lit up as I smiled widely.

Y/N:
"Patches, hi!" I raised my voice, immediately picking her up to cuddle her, "I feel like I haven't seen you in forever—"

Clay's cat meowed to me and licked my hand, making me giggle.

Suddenly, I heard a thud coming from outside. I jerked my head to the left and walked towards the window while holding Patches.

I glanced out at Clay's front yard to see what the noise was, but I couldn't see much, mainly just grass. So, I ignored the noise and went upstairs to Clay's bedroom.

When I made it, I walked inside the bedroom and right when I did, I heard the thud again, making me slightly nervous. I set Patches down on Clay's bed, then looked outside his window again, still seeing nothing.

Suddenly, I heard a third thud. This time, it was louder than the other two, so loud, that it made me jump. Now, I was actually nervous.

My first instinct was to call Clay, but George was right next door, so I could go to him. I tried picking up Patches, but she ran away off the bed, making me sigh.
