-Y/N's POV-
My family and friends ended up finishing their meals. Meanwhile, I was outside the whole time, thinking about everything Minx told me. I felt sick to my stomach with guilt.

I always thought Minx was a bitch, and that she was just someone who was jealous of me. But it turned out that she had every single right to be jealous of me. I felt like the bad guy again, I hated how much this happened. Maybe I really was the villain of my own story.

Everyone eventually came outside to get me.

MOM:
"Are you okay, hun? You didn't come in and finish your dinner."

"I don't deserve to..." Was my immediate thought as I sighed.

Y/N:
"It's a long story..." I mumbled while holding my hands together.

MOM:
"C'mon, let's talk about it in the car." She held her hand out for me to grab.

I stood up, taking my moms hand in mine, then all of us climbed into my parents car and drove off.

Along the drive, I decided to ask my parents about the lottery they supposedly won, as Minx said.

Y/N:
"Um...this is a random question, but...have you guys ever won the lottery?"

My father slammed on the brakes suddenly, making all of us jerk forward a little, then back again. Our eyes were widened at my parents in the front seats. They looked like deer caught in headlights.

MOM:
"Wha—L—Lottery?" She nervously laughed, "W—Where did you get that idea from?"

Y/N:
"Is it true?" My eyebrows squished together, "Did you guys really win the lottery before??"

DAD:
"Possibly..." He pressed his lips together.

Mine and Nicole's jaws dropped.

NICOLE:
"Wha—How much did you win??"

MOM:
"2.6 billion dollars..." She mumbled under her breath while looking off to the side.

NICOLE/Y/N:
"WHAT?!" We yelled at the top of our lungs.

MOM:
"Look, we never wanted to tell you girls because we wanted you to be appreciative of what you have." She explained.

NICOLE:
"You have 2 billion dollars lying around and you don't do anything with it?!" She raised her voice in shock.

MOM:
"Not necessarily. Did you all ever wonder how we were able to pay everyone's hospital bills instantly?" She nervously laughed.

I looked in disbelief at my parents.

Y/N:
"I can't believe this..." I sat back in my seat.

DAD:
"We wanted you girls to be humble." He spoke while staring at the road he was driving on.

NICOLE:
"Fuck being humble—"

MOM:
"Nicole—" She sighed.

I shut my eyes while leaning my head back against the seat.

NICOLE:
"Can we go to the mall tomorrow??" She said excitedly.

My parents exchanged glances with nervous sighs again.

NICOLE:
"Wait can I get a tesla—" Her smile widened.

DAD:
"This is exactly why we didn't want you girls knowing this. How'd you even find this out, Y/N?"

NICOLE:
"Wait a damn minute—you told me my student loan payments were lost...you paid off all my student loans?!" Her eyes widened as her eyebrows squished together.
