FIVE AND Y/N walked along the halls side by side, making their way to the Buffalo Suite to jumpstart his forgotten memories.
"So, are you going?" Number Five wanted to let her choose independently about the other dimension. As much as he also wanted her to stay with him for the remaining hours living, he found that she might want to decide for herself.
Y/N shook her head in reply. In terms of the other side, apathy had worked its way to the girl. "I hardly give a shit about the end anymore." She saw no purpose of her being stuck in Sir Reginald's web; she was in no obligation to listen to this old man who was supposed to be dead in the first place.
"I suppose you'll stand down, too?" She returned the question.
"Still thinking about it." Five nodded. He didn't need to explain why, knowing that she was well-aware of what he thought about this whole situation. What she's unbeknownst of, however, was the other reckless scenario his booze made him say. Or so he thought.
No matter how much it took him to lock that up from Y/N's telepathy, his thoughts remained audible. It bothered her that Five was still on about it when he shouldn't have to be. After all, it's crazier getting hitched when the end is just hours away.
Though, why did it feel difficult to accept their fate?
"Hey, Five." She called.
He turned to her and looked at her with his soft, tired gaze. "Yes?"
A glimpse of him almost made her want to live longer with him. For a moment, a flash of Allison's selfishness scraped her by the knee that she began considering Reginald's offer.
Five could tell right away that something was troubling her from the look that she gave. "You okay?"
Then again, it wouldn't be so bad to just spend a few more hours with him than spend them in a battle that might not even bring everything back, right?
Due to this, Y/N wasn't able to hold herself back from pulling him by the collar to press her lips onto his.
Their eyes closed to the dazing sensation they were receiving from each other as they clung onto one another more. It never felt as fervent as this before.
Number Five returned the kiss without a second thought. He could feel goosebumps under his coat as the way she ran her fingers through his hair sent shivers down his spine. From the way she softly brushed her lips together with his -- from all the love he could feel from the kiss they shared, he couldn't seem to remember why he lacked the confidence on telling her again and again.
"I still wanna marry you." He whispered underneath his breath that mixed with hers before he kissed her again. “I'm sorry I kept you waiting. I'm sorry that it might not happen anymore.” He added in his mind to let her hear him telepathically instead.
Eventually, the both of them pulled away from the warmth they gave to each other when they closed the gap. Y/N showed him a loving smile. "It doesn't matter anymore, Love. Marriage is just a piece of paper." She was already elated to know that he remembered. "I'm here with you, you're here with me. That's what matters."
The corners of Five's lips lifted up after she sealed another brief kiss. He was still dazed by the fact that he landed the girl. "I love you so much." He said, making her smile grow wider.
