"I love you, too." She replied. Much to their dread, they had to pull away from each other's hold. "Okay, now that we got this out of the way, where were we on that Reggie problem?"

Her question made Five scoff, "You make it seem like trying to get hitched was irrelevant." He remarked as she took his hand dragged him along to walk and talk.

"Well, it did take you long enough to remember your attempted proposal," Y/N playfully shot back. "Now, are you just gonna keep letting me drag you without knowing where to go or are you gonna tell me where we're headed?"

Viktor came into a halt to welcome yet another confrontation from Allison. "Look, I was really drunk last night." She explained.

Her excuses only made him feel numb; immune to her approach after she hurt him many times, "You don't have to make any excuses." Viktor shook his head, "I get it. I am your least favorite sibling. I ruined your life--"

"Okay. No, that's not--" but it seems as though Allison begged to differ. She cut herself off with a sigh, wetting her lips as she struggled to find the right words to win his trust again.  "Will you just stop and listen, please?"

Viktor blinked vigorously as he was feeling disgruntled with her sudden desire to converse with him. Although he was already tired of hearing anyone out, he felt obligated to listen to her side of the story.

"Last night, you were right." She started after she took a deep breath, "Claire and Ray are gone." She said.

"But... hating you won't bring them back. And my pain... doesn't give me permission to hurt you."

Viktor couldn't help but find it strange to see her making amends rather than appreciating it. As he recalled, she was ready to throw a fist fight last night. But now —— now, it was as if she was ready to get on her knees and beg.

Yet, he was unsure if she was actually begging for forgiveness.

He watched her grip on the railings next to them as tears were threatening to trickle down her cheeks, "But it's real." She sighed shakily, "And it's something that I have to carry.

"Which is why if I don't... If I don't do something, if I don't... if I don't act now... it's just another thing that slips into nothingness."

Come to think of it, was she really trying to apologize?

"If we stay here, we die."

Perhaps not. Viktor thought to himself. But knowing it didn't mean he would show that he wasn't taking her word for it. He had to let her finish, "But if we go through the portal, we could... we could save the universe. We could save... everybody." Perhaps not, indeed.

"So can we put our past behind us and move forward together?" She requested, "Can you give me that?"

Still reluctant of her change if heart, all that he was able to do was nod. He couldn't even bring himself to give a verbal confirmation.

On the other hand, Allison gladly accepted the gesture, despite its subtlety. Thinking that she already had Viktor wrapped around her finger, she exposed a faint grin and finished her speech, "I love you."

"I love you, too." Viktor responded.

With that, Allison wrapped her arms around her brother, who accepted the hug. Even when it didn't feel right at all.

Luther sat quietly on top of his and Sloane's bed, all alone while he watched everything decay outside. It was only a matter of time before they're the next ones to disintegrate. They had to make the best out of these remaining hours, despite finding it difficult to say goodbye to the first world that he lived in.
