I sighed with annoyance, then decided to follow the idiot. He opened his car door and hopped inside.
CLAY: "Are you trying to kidnap me?"
WILBUR: "Who would want you?" He tilted his head.
CLAY: "Your crush." I bit back.
Wilbur rolled his tongue over the inside of his cheek while shaking his head.
WILBUR: "I'm trying to apologize, you idiot, just get in the car." His voice was filled with annoyance.
I rolled my eyes and decided to hop inside his car to see what he was up to. Once I made my way over to the passengers side, I opened the door and climbed in. When I shut the door, he stepped on the gas petal and took off.
-NICK's POV- I looked outside Clay's bedroom window to see him drive off with Wilbur, which left me confused and nervous as to what Wilbur wanted.
Instead of staying alone at Clay's house, I texted Y/N to see what she was up to today.
-Y/N's POV- I got ready in George's bathroom. I tied my hair up into a ponytail and let some strands fall out to shape my face. Next, I applied some light makeup I had in my backpack. Lastly, I got dressed in an outfit I left at George's house a while ago.

Once I was done getting ready, I texted George's mother the address of the park. Then I got George from his room, and we headed downstairs together. When we reached the front door, I yelled to his parents.
Y/N: "We're going out, bye—" I yelled loud enough for them to hear.
George and I shortly left his house, we began the long walk to the park. After walking for a minute, my phone chimed in my pocket. I took it out to see a text message from Nick.
NICK: Hey what're you up to today?
Y/N: Going to the park Wanna come?
NICK: Sure
I looked up at George and slipped my phone away.
Y/N: "Wanna go to the park?" I suggested.
GEORGE: "Sure." He smiled.
I held his hand in mine, and he didn't hesitate to hold mine back.
30 minutes later, we made it to the park finally. When we made it, I gazed around at the environment and couldn't help but freeze while staring at one specific spot.
The bathrooms.
• FLASHBACK (CH. 23) • My eyes then trailed to the bathrooms. I saw a tall brunette man hovering over Nicole. He had her against the wall while holding his hands on each sides of her arms, trapping her in place.
She looked a little scared but sad. He just looked full on angry. My eyebrows squished together at them, then I tapped on my camera app and took a picture of them, capturing his face just in case.
• REALITY • I swallowed hard at the bathrooms as I began to feel uneasy.
GEORGE: "Y/N?" I shot my head to him, "You okay?"
Y/N: "Yeah..." I mumbled while staring back to where the memory was, "Over there is where I first saw Mr. Jay's brother..."
I clenched my jaw while narrowing my eyes at the spot. George wrapped his arm around me and spoke in my ear.
GEORGE: "Those idiots won't get to you again. Mr. Jay is rotting in jail and his brother is dead. I won't let anything happen to you ever again..."
I turned my head and met eyes with George. Our faces were inches apart. I nodded slowly with a frown and leaned my head against his shoulder. My crush held me tightly in his arms, it made me feel better.
G MOM: "George?"
The both of us turned around quickly, letting go of each other in the process. That moment made me forget all about my plan. I blinked away my slight tears and took a deep breath.
GEORGE: "What're you doing here?" His tone went from soft to annoyed.
G MOM: "I wanted to talk..." She messed with her fingers nervously.
Y/N: "I—I can go if you want me to..." I tried walking away, but George grabbed my hand, keeping me in place.
GEORGE: "No...I'm not ready to talk to you..." He spoke to her.
Y/N: "George don't you wanna hear what she has to say?" I tried speaking softly.
GEORGE: "No I don't Y/N..." He looked at me while clenching his jaw.
I sighed nervously, regretting having this idea.
GEORGE: "She's lucky I'm even home..." He mumbled under his breath while looking away.
G MOM: "George..." She tried to talk, but he cut her off again.
GEORGE: "Just shut up—" He snapped, raising his voice, "I don't care about what you have to say! You don't realize how you've made me feel my whole life!"
G MOM: "I'm trying to change—" Her voice cracked as she frowned.
GEORGE: "I don't want you to—" He bit back, "You've already been dead to me all these years!!"
My eyes widened as my heart fell a little. I've never seen George so angry.
His mother's mouth dropped open a little, it looked like her heart fell too. Her eyebrows squished together in sadness as tears filled her eyes immediately.
GEORGE: "Your job has always been more important than your own child!" He continued, "You left me with a father who was always around to tell me that I was never good enough for anyone or anything!! I cried so much, I've had so many panic attacks just to please you two, and now you're saying you're trying to change?? Well, it's too late—I hate you!!"
Tears filled my eyes while I stared at George as I frowned. It was now that I was calling myself an idiot over and over in my head for this terrible plan.
As for his mother, her tears fell to the concrete. Her expression was heartbreaking.
Suddenly, she held her hand to her chest as she inhaled sharply. Her eyes widened as she gripped her chest. George's eyebrows squished together at her. She shut her eyes tightly as her knees buckled, she collapsed to the ground while gripping her chest hard.
George and I bent down to her quickly in worry and confusion.
GEORGE: "Mum—Mum??" He held her arms.
She began to breathe heavily, she was having a hard time breathing. I instantly grabbed my phone from my pocket and dialed 911, her eyes shut fully, all while George shouted her name over and over in worry and confusion.
