-WILBUR's POV-
Once Y/N's father and I were outside, he spoke.

DAD:
"Did you have sex?" Was the first thing he said.

I sighed nervously while lowering my shoulders.

WILBUR:
"No." I walked over to the deck railing, "I know Y/N is waiting for marriage and I respect that. Most people don't care to wait, but I admire the fact that she does."

He joined me, leaning on the railing.

DAD:
"Good. I know that you both are growing up. So yes, my daughter will unfortunately come home with hickeys but, I want you to know that if it ever gets out of hand, I will deal with you accordingly." He raised an eyebrow.

WILBUR:
"I won't let it get to that point, sir. I love your daughter very much, I love her enough to wait. I know she deserves the best, which is why I'll always do my best to be the best for her." I explained.

He nodded slowly.

WILBUR:
"Actually um, I'm glad we could talk. Y/N said something tonight that concerned me."

DAD:
"What is it?" He crossed his arms.

WILBUR:
"Um...w—well, don't take this the wrong way, these are her words but...she said that she's been stressed out lately because...she feels like every conversation you guys have with her is about her love life."

He raised his eyebrows.

WILBUR:
"N—Now of course—I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong, and I really think you're a great parent. I—I just know that Y/N feels that way and—"

DAD:
"Son—" He stopped my rambling, "Take a breather."

I took his advice and took a deep breath.

DAD:
"I appreciate you telling me this. You're right after all." He sat down on the patio chair, I joined him in the one next to him, "The thing is, I feel like that's all we could talk about is her love life."

My eyebrows squished together.

DAD:
"I mean, she's not a kid anymore...and besides, she's always had Clay, George, and Nick around for advice and for other things...she hasn't really needed me since she was a baby..." He pressed his hands together, "I don't know, I guess in my head it's better to talk about the main thing in her life, rather than us to not talk at all."

I frowned at him.

DAD:
"Her and I used to go on this rollercoaster all the time as a kid..." He sadly smiled at the wooden deck below him, "She would always hold my arm so tight, and I knew that she felt safe with me...but then, she met the boys and...then her safe place started to be with them..."

My lips curled down farther.

DAD:
"She started going to them for advice, she spent all her time with them, and she still does...most of the time, it feels like Nicole is my only daughter since Y/N's always hanging out with her friends..."

I sighed.

DAD:
"Don't get me wrong, I'm glad she met Clay, George and Nick, and even you, but...sometimes I do miss my little girl..." He nodded slowly, "Which is why I'm so excited about tomorrow for our family dinner, including you and the others."

I nodded.

WILBUR:
"I'm sorry, sir..." I apologized.

DAD:
"For what?"

WILBUR:
"Everything really..." I mumbled, "I can go home tonight if you want me to. You and Y/N could do something fun tonight."

DAD:
"No, it's okay. No teenage girl wants to hang out with her father on a Saturday night." He painfully chuckled while messing with his fingers.
