Chapter 148 ? Beautiful

Start from the beginning

My mother sighed while leaning her head against her palm on the side door.

MOM:
"Yes, and we planned to do the same to Y/N."

Y/N:
"You guys don't need to do that..." I said quietly, still filled with guilt about Minx.

NICOLE:
"Girl student loans were a pain in the ass—let them do it." She raised her eyebrows.

I clenched my jaw while staring down at my heels.

Suddenly, a hand slipped its way to mine. I looked to the left to see it was George. I slowly looked up and met his eyes. He lightly smiled at me as a sign of reassurance. I lightly smiled back and took a deep breath, squeezing his hand to calm my nerves.

The rest of the ride, Nicole spoke to my parents about the whole lottery thing, meanwhile, my head was rested on George's shoulder as I squeezed his hand the whole time.

The fact that we won the lottery before just made the guilt eat away at me more about Minx. I knew I shouldn't be happy about this, I knew I didn't deserve all this money.

Those bad thoughts consumed me all the way home. George told my family in the restaurant that he'd be spending the night. So, my parents dropped off the rest of my friends and eventually, the 5 of us made it to my house, the one I didn't deserve.

Nicole was still talking her ear off to them about all their money.

DAD:
"Nicole," He sighed, "we will talk about this in the morning."

NICOLE:
"In the morning, on the way to the mall?" She smiled.

My parents shared a sigh, all while I held George's hand as he stood next to me in the back. Soon, my father unlocked the front door of our house and all of us stepped inside.

I instantly went upstairs with George to change out of our fancy dinner clothes. I ended up giving him Clay's sweatshirt and Nick's sweatpants from my top dresser drawer, ones they've left here before.

George and I changed on opposite sides of the room, with my door locked. We each didn't stare at each other, we had our backs turned. To be honest, I didn't care to care about changing in front of him.

So, I swung my dress over my head, revealing to my wall my bra and underwear, all while I stared hazily at my white walls with tears in my eyes. I bit the inside of my cheek as I slipped on some black lace shorts and the matching black lace tank top.

While changing, George spoke up from the other side of the room.

GEORGE:
"Are you okay...? You were quiet on the ride back..."

I swallowed hard as I clenched my jaw.

Y/N:
"I'm not okay...but it's fine, I deserve it..." My tears fell down my cheeks.

Shortly, I heard George walking up behind me.

GEORGE:
"Do you wanna talk about it?" I heard his frown.

I released a shaky breath out as I turned around, wiping off my teary cheeks. I leaned my palms against my TV stand as I met George's beautiful chocolate brown eyes.

Y/N:
"My parents are richer than their wildest dreams..." I pressed my lips together as my eyebrows squished together in sadness, "Everyone was right about me all along...all those comments about being a stuck up, rich girl...everyone who said I didn't deserve what I had...they were all right..."

GEORGE:
"Y/N, you deserve all good things." His lips curled down farther.

Y/N:
"No, I don't..." I shook my head, "I'm a horrible person...all I do is hurt people, I hate myself..."
