Meanwhile, Five was walking through the hallways of the house when he noticed Klaus groaning of itchiness around his body. He grew suspicious when he saw bloody footprints from the bathroom to his brother's room who's changing his clothes.
He knew where he had been. So he knocked on his door. Number Four turned to him, "You okay?" The boy asked.
"Hey." Klaus greeted, "Yeah, I just..." He trailed off, thinking of another excuse besides the fact that he had been somewhere else. ".. Long night." Was all he said.
Number Five scoffed, "More than one, from the looks of it."
"Yeah." Klaus replied as he put on a different shirt.
"I don't remember the dog tags." Five commented.
"Yeah, they belonged to a friend." Klaus muttered synthetically, avoiding eye contact from Five.
"How about that new tattoo?" Five pointed out his brother's arm where the unfamiliar tattoo was.
Klaus looked over at the permanent drawing on his arm before saying, "You know, I don't really remember even getting it." It was the first time in a while for him having the want to be left alone, "Like I said, it was a long night."
"You did it, didn't you?" Five confronted.
"What are you talkin' about?" Klaus questioned as if he didn't know what he had done.
"You know, I recognize the symptoms, Klaus." Five blurted.
Number Four felt interrogated at this point, "Symptoms of what?"
"The jetlag." Five started, "Full body itch. The headache that feels like someone shoved a box of cotton up to your nose and through your brain." Klaus stayed silent.
"You gonna tell me about it?" Five urged.
Klaus looked up at him and explained, "Your pals, when they broke into out house and they couldn't find you and they didn't get the chance to grab Y/N, they took me hostage instead."
"And in return you stole their briefcase." Five finished.
"Yeah. I thought there was money in it, or I could pawn it, you know, whatever." He continued, "And then I opened it."
"And next thing you knew, you were.. where? Or should I say when."
"What difference does it make?" Klaus asked ignorantly.
"What diff- Okay, how long were you gone?" Five asked.
"Almost a year." Klaus answered glumly.
"A year? Do you know what this means?" Five questioned. He was beginning to panic. Knowing Klaus, he had done something to it.
"Yeah, I'm 10 months older now." Klaus chuckled.
The boy was getting frustrated by his answers, "No, this isn't any sort of joke, Klaus. Hazel and Cha-Cha whatever they can do to get the briefcase." He explained. By then, he started looking around the room for it. But it wasn't anywhere to be seen.
"Where is it now?" He asked.
Klaus looked at him blankly, "Gone. I destroyed it. Poof." He replied with no emotions.
"What the hell are you thinking?" Five scolded.
"What do you care?" Klaus argued like a child.
"What do I care? I needed it, you moron, so I could get back." Five retorted, "I could start over."
"Just... Just.." Klaus had enough. He stood up and put up his hand at him as he walked out of the room. "Where are you going?" Five asked.
"Interrogation's over, just.. leave." The irritation in Klaus' voice was obvious and Y/N heard it. She was there the whole time, invisible.
