"Yeah." Luther chimed, "Well, my boss owns the place." He seemed proud working for his employer. "I'm his body man."
The boy frowned in confusion. Luther must've meant a bodyguard. But he couldn't be too sure. "What's that? Like a masseuse or something?"
"Okay, you can make fun all you want, but I take good care of Mr. Ruby." Luther defended.
"Wait, Ruby." Five didn't think twice to make the assumption, "The Jack Ruby, the gangster who shot Oswold?"
"Yeah, the one and only." Luther put up a prideful smirk as if it was a good thing.
Number Five was in disbelief, "Well, it finally happened. That gorilla DNA has taken over your mind." He sarcastically concluded.
"Hey, watch it, all right? Jack's a good friend." Luther's voice spoke more quiet and harshly to his brother.
"And you're Number One." The boy persisted, "Número Uno. Remember?"
The built man was getting filled up like a bottle every second Five pushed him to help stop Doomsday. He didn't want to do anything about it any longer. "There is no Number One." He deadpanned, "Not anymore. Not in 1963."
The boy narrowed his eyes at him for being ridiculous to reflect himself at a wrong time. "Look, I've been stranded here alone for a year. What did you expect?" Luther carped.
"I get it, all right? You watched Pogo die, the world exploded and I marooned your big dumb ass in time." Five continued, "I'm sorry, okay? But I'm asking for your help, Luther." He pleaded, "The Umbrella Academy needs you."
Five didn't know where else he could ask for help. Diego had other plans, Y/N was nowhere to be seen as well as his other siblings. His brother was the only one he could expect to help him. Or so he thought.
Luther wouldn't even budge, "It doesn't need me." He scoffed softly, "It never did."
The boy thought about something else to convince him. But he was too slow as Autumn called him, "Luther, honey, Jack's about to lose it on some half-wit. A little help?"
Luther cursed under his breath before walking out on Five. But his brother wasn't finish, "Luther, wait-"
"Listen." That's when Luther snapped, "You're the genius who said we should jump. Right? You're the one who got us stuck here. And you're the one who brought Vanya. So if there is a doomsday coming, she's probably the cause." He blurted out, "And if I was gonna do something about it, it sure as hell is not gonna be with you."
Luther left him standing there, feeling helpless. The only thing he could think of doing now was to sit in front of the bar and drink alcohol out of stress.
He was already sorry for what he had done. He knew he made a mistake. But was it really that big of a mistake to have Luther turn his back on saving he world?
Y/N was his only option now. But where could he find her? Knowing her, she likes to move around a lot.
His mind went back to Luther as he watched him drag the lanky man out of the club. He put down his drink in disappointment, "Dad should've left him on the Moon."
He didn't finish beverage as he decided to leave and find another way to save the human race from doomsday. Until his blazer got caught on the stool and noticed an orange block in his pocket.
It was a film Hazel had put it there before he was killed. He looked at the back to find a date and the subject.
