Finding Myself

I had curled up on one of the steps and fallen asleep

After who knows how long of me begging for someone to help I just gave up

I woke up from someone shaking me

" Hey there ? You ok ?" I heard that person say

I open my eyes and look at the person talking , it was a man ?He seemed like a nice man , he was tall tho ,so it made me feel small

" Um yeah , thank you for helping me" I say as I get up and wipe at my wet eyes

" What happened" he asked concerned

" I got tricked to a sleepover and locked in here " I say

" Who did this to you !"

" I think Sarah's her name "

His eyes turned red and he looked angry

" But sir it's ok , please don't be mad , she probably didn't mean to "

I don't know why I was defending her? Obviously she did this on purpose,

" Oh she ment to ,I know it , she's always been such a bully " he says

" Here let's get you out of here , what time did you get here ?" He asks as we go up the stairs

" I think it was 6:30 " I say

" It's 11:30" he sounded even more angry now

" Umm sweetie , sorry about what had happened to you , your parents are probably going to kill me "

I look down

" My parents are died "

" Oh, I'm Soo sorry " he said ,he looked like he wanted to cry

" Sir , it's ok , they have died awhile ago , I now live with Luke , he's given me everything I need and has taken care of me "

" Luke ?"

" Yes"

" I know Luke , If your talking about the Luke who works at the police station?"

" Yes ,that's him "

" He's my best friend " he says in deep thought

" Ohhh ,you must be that kid he was looking for ,What's your name ?" He asks

" Isabella "

" Nice to meet you Isabella, I am Ethan , Sarahs dads friend"

" Your her dad's friend ?"

" Yes , I'm here to watch them while their parents are out of town "

They are the most luckiest kids , they have a roof over their heads and both their parents and extended family and this is who they choose to be ..bullies?

" Are you ok Isabella ? Did you want me to bring you home?"

" No , Luke cannot find out about this ok , I'll sleep here til he picks me up "

" No , Luke will be hearing this and Sarah will be punished "

" Please , don't tell Luke ! "

" Why's that " he asks

" Then he won't want me anymore because I'm not tough "

" Isabella , you are tough and Luke would never want to lose you again , he was worried sick when you went missing .At the time ,I just thought you were some kid that got lost and your parents needed help looking for you , it makes sense now ,why he was overly concerned "

" Really ,he really cares ?"

" Of course he does "

" Ok ,I'm going to wait till morning to confront Sarah , for now let's get you to bed , we have a guest room ,which I'm staying in ,but you can sleep in there for the night "

" Where will you slept then ?" I ask

" Don't worry there is plenty of space for me to sleep else where "

He showed me to his room and I got on the bed , I was starting to feel overly exhausted

" There you go. Ok I'll see you in the morning ok "

He didn't wait for me to respond having seen me already start to fall asleep

" Thank you for being nice to me , when others haven't " I mumble more to myself then him

But what I didn't know was he had heard me and started to cry , and that he wasn't crying because of what I said ,but because he had found something that he had lost a long time ago....
