Finding Myself

Ethan's pov

The way she clung to me and cried in my arms made me realize there's more to being a dad then just being there for her

I need to comfort her and understand what she's feeling ,without her telling me

She fell asleep in my arms and I stayed like that for awhile until Luke suggested we take her back home to his place

I lifted her small frame easily in my arms and carried her to the car

" Man just hold her in the front seat with you till we get there ok " Luke said

" I think that's a great idea. I don't wanna wake her then she has another episode " I say quietly

I get in Luke's car and he drives to his house , he will just have to drive me back

" You got her?" Luke asks as he opens the door for me once we get there

" Yeah ,she so light,it's crazy"

" Yeah ,it makes you enjoy holding her more" Luke says while smiling

We get in the house and Luke shows me to her room

" Just lay her here on top of the covers , she can shower and change once she wakes up " Luke says

I carefully lay her down and we walk out of her room and down the stairs

" I'm home !" Samuel calls as he enters the house ,

" Bud get your voice down please , Isabella is sleeping upstairs " Luke said

" Oh , is she ok ?" He asks
" And what's Ethan doing here?"

" About that , come inside and we will tell you " Luke says

I don't know how he's gonna react because I know Isabella and him are besties

" Samuel, Ethan is Isabella's biological father , and before you say anything, let us explain" Luke says once we have all taken a seat in the living room

Luke looks at me ,so I tell Samuel everything I told Isabella,

" So is she gonna live with you now? Will I ever see her again? Like your really her father ? Luke does that make you sad ? Wait do you live near here? " Samuel asked question after question

" Hold on buddy , so yes she's going to live with me and I live  90 minutes from here ,so it will be a trip to go back and forth but for Isabella's and your sake we will come whenever we can , so you will of course see her again and Luke ... I'm sure Luke is very sad " I say  as I look at Luke

" Yeah ,but I am very happy for you both Ethan , you guys have each other now and I have Samuel and we will see you guys lots" Luke says

" Yes , so now that that's all in the open , Luke can you drive me back to Patrick's house , I'm gonna get there before they show up and then I'll come back tomorrow to take Isabella home ,if that's ok , but if she's to scared or something I'll wait another day," I say as I get up

" Yes of course , whenever your ready ,after all she is your daughter" Luke says

" Ok Samuel I'm gonna take Ethan back ,so watch Isabella if she wakes up please ,I'll make dinner once I'm back " Luke says

" Ok "

Once we got in the car and headed to the house Luke spoke

" Ethan ,it's going to hurt me to lose Isabella, I have taken her in and treated her as my own , I know now that that was so you guys could meet again , but I do feel the pain of losing her real strong "

" Luke ,you and I can raise her together, I need someone's help , I need your help , I'm afraid I won't be able to do it " I say

" Ethan ,sure you can , she will love you and except you as you have excepted her and of course if you ever need help I'm always here"

Luke has been my best friend sense highschool ,we both got jobs at the police station and now look where we both are now ,we both have a kid of our own , but the future still is remains a mystery.....
