I gave her the room number before she hung up, getting ready to start her best friend mission.

Once Chloe had arrived with the emergency heels and George had reappeared after his magical disappearing act, I was eventually ready to head down to be reunited with the X Factor 2012 family. There was a little hop in my step as George and I made our way down the stairs and through the lobby towards the room where we had been instructed by Melanie to meet. George had hold of my hand as we walked into the room to see everyone chatting away to each other. Lucy and Rylan were catching up, discussing Rylan’s work on Big Brother and Lucy’s latest album adventures. Jade was congratulating Melanie on what an amazing idea a reunion was. Josh and JJ were talking to Micky and Dan from District 3, which no longer existed but they still remained friends. Whilst Jaymi and Jahméne were ordering drinks from the bar.
“What drink do you want?” George smiled to me.
“Vodka and orange,” I replied. George gave me a funny look discreetly so that nobody else could see it and get suspicious. I leant over and whispered in his ear. “If we want to keep this secret, we have to pretend that I’m drinking alcohol so when I say vodka and orange, I mean orange juice.”
“One vodka and orange coming up,” he winked before leaving me alone at the front of the room.
I don’t think anybody else was aware that George and I had turned up as they all continued with their different conversations. Well, that was until Lucy screamed my name from across the room and began darting across in my direction. I put my hands down by my side, trying to make it less obvious that I had a huge bulging bump beneath my dress.
“Lucy!” I grinned.
We hit trouble though when Lucy put her arms out to hug me. I couldn’t let her hug me. If she hugged me, she’d feel the babies that were both kicking about inside my stomach. Quick thinking, I turned to the side so my bump was out of the way and gave her a hug with my body away from her.
“It’s been ages,” I smiled to her.
Lucy gave me a funny look before shaking it off. “I know. I can’t believe I couldn’t come to yours and George’s wedding,” she sighed. “I really wish I could have. I hope you guys had a really good time though.”
“We did. It was perfect,” I beamed. “Thank-you.”
“And why didn’t you bring my gorgeous little Katy?” Rylan asked, giving me another awkward hug as I tried to avoid the bump being in contact with anyone.
“She’s spending some quality time with George’s mum this weekend,” I smiled. “Granny Harris is taking her to Bristol shopping and then they’re going to watch a movie at the cinema. She was so excited when we dropped her off yesterday. Bless.”
“Orange and vodka,” George said, handing me a glass of orange juice as he returned back from the bar.
“I can’t believe how gorgeous you look, Sammy,” Rylan commented. “You’re glowing.”
“George’s mum took me to a spa yesterday for some mother-in-law and daughter-in-law bonding time,” I smiled. “So relaxing. It’s amazing what a little massage can do to you.”
George sniggered.
“Congratulations of the BAFTA, Rylan,” I grinned to Rylan, trying to hide the awkwardness that had erupted since George’s laugh. “So proud of you. You really deserved it.”
“I think you should go in the Big Brother house next year, Sammy. You’d win without a doubt,” Rylan teased.
I shook my head as I took a sip on my drink. “I don’t think so somehow. Maybe George should.”
