I watched Midoriya take a deep breath before taking his final throw. The shockwave that resulted blew back my [h/c] locks. I gaped in awe. With a quirk like that, why didn't he use it during the villain attack?

I snapped out of my thoughts when Bakugou angrily rushed towards him. "WHAT THE HELL, DEKU?! EXPLAIN YOURSEL-"

He was cut off as Mr. Aizawa held him back with his capture weapon. "Stop using your quirk... I'm getting dry eye over here," the man grumbled before releasing Bakugou.

We continued with the tests and my scores were rather average as my quirk didn't help. When it was time to recieve our scores I stood to the back of the group.

"Also, I was lying about expelling someone," the tired teacher stated. "That was a rational deception meant to bring out your best," he smiled dryly at us.

A floodgate of relief opened in my chest as I comprehended his words. The class was losing it at the statement and then the scores were pulled up. My eyes scanned over the scores and found my name at number 16.

Mr. Aizawa dismissed us, explaining where the class information was, before wandering back towards the building.

The rest of the day passed rather quickly and soon enough I found myself walking out of the school, my eyes to the ground. I was exhausted but thrilled that I wasn't expelled.

The next day we really got into our schedule. Our morning classes were normal. English, mathematics, etc. I noticed everyone looked bored in those classes but I couldn't help but feel a small thrill at the fact Present Mic was teaching english. This school was amazing.

As expected, lunch was a wonder on its own. I ordered [f/f] and found an empty table in the back of the cafeteria. I noticed Kirishima across the cafeteria, eating with Bakugou and a few others. I didn't mind sitting alone.

Snapping out of my thoughts, I was surprised when another student asked if he could join me. I nodded and let out a stuttered "go ahead" before peeking up at the new arrival.

I was surprised to see it was the boy who sat next to me in the auditorium during the exam.

He had purple hair that stood up messily and an exhausted energy that clung to him, much like Mr. Aizawa. His eyes shot to mine and I looked back to my food when I realized I was staring.

Neither of us tried to start up a conversation.

Eventually the bell rang, signaling afternoon classes and the tired boy nodded to me before leaving. I ended up trailing behind some of my classmates to our class.

Afternoon classes were the exciting part of the day. Basic hero training. I felt a glimmer of excitement and struggled to contain a small smile as I sat at my desk.

With a crash, the classroom door burst open. "I AM COMING THROUGH THE DOOR LIKE A NORMAL PERSON!"

I jolted in my seat at the commotion. The rest of the class started chattering excitedly. He quickly explained we would be doing battle training today.

Of course like anyone else, I could feel the familiar buzz of excitement at his words. "-AND FOR THAT YOU NEED THESE," the hero boomed, pressing a remote.

The wall opened up revealing numbered cases. "Costumes!" was the general cry of the class. A smile snuck its way onto my face and I felt a thrill rush through me. I couldn't wait to see how mine turned out.

"After changing, come out to Ground Beta in ranking order!"

With that final instruction, the class burst into action. Soon enough, I found myself in my costume fidgeting nervously.

"Woah! Your costume looks great!" I jumped in surprise and turned to see a blonde guy grinning at me.

He had what looked like a lightning bolt in his hair. I felt myself blush as I stuttered out a thank you.

He laughed lightly, "My names Denki Kaminari!"

I gave a small smile before responding. "[Y/n] [L/n]. Nice to meet you. Your costume looks cool, too," I said softly.

I turned as a hand grabbed my shoulder. "[L/n]! Kaminari! You both look so manly!" A beaming Kirishima had joined us.

"Woah! Kirishima, your hero costume looks really awesome!" I exclaimed.

Kirishima wrapped an arm around my shoulder with a bright smile. "Bro! Thats the loudest you've ever talked to me!"

He dropped his arm as All Might began to explain today's lesson.

"-AND BATTLE PARTNERS WILL BE DECIDED BY DRAWING LOTS!" He exclaimed, presenting a box.

He began listing the teams and I found I was paired with Momo Yaoyorozu.

"[Y/n] [L/n]?" She approached me as All Might finished assigning the other teams and announced the first team.

I nodded in confirmation and wrung my hands nervously. I followed beside her timidly on the way to the monitor room to watch the fight.

She flashed me a reassuring smile, "I'm Momo Yaoyorozu. We should come up with a basic strategy. What's your quirk?"

I smiled lightly. "Uh my quirk is called Space Pop. I can basically teleport myself and others within seeing distance..." I trailed off.

"That's a pretty neat quirk," she chirped. "Mine is called Creation. I can create any non-living material from my lipids. As long as I understand how its made, I can make it."

I grinned excitedly. "That's amazing!"

My partner laughed, "Thanks! I think if we are the hero team, I'll distract the villains and you can get the weapon before they know what's happening. If we are the villain team, I'll be first line of defense and you can teleport away with the bomb if need be."

I nodded before agreeing quietly. Turning to the monitors, we both fell silent and watched as the first match began.
