I'm startled from my catch up work when Kaminari bursts into my room, grinning brightly. "Yo! [L/n], your boyfriend is here!"

"W-wh-wha-? I do-don't- Hitoshi isn't m-my b-boyfriend..." My face is flushed a dark red as I shake my head frantically.

"Could've fooled me- I didn't even say his name! Besides, you guys are always together and hold hands, too!"

"Fr-friends can hold h-hands!"

Hitoshi pushes his way into the room passed the electric blond, ignoring the conversation. He gives the blond an expectant look until he raises his hands in surrender.

"Yeah, yeah. I'm leaving."

Once the door shuts, Hitoshi turns his attention to me. I must still be blushing because he gets a familiar teasing glint to his eyes and he tugs me to my feet, holding my hands. At my confused expression, he smirks teasingly.

"I'm just holding your hands. You said friends can do that."

I blush brighter but I don't pull away. He turns his palms up to compare us. Mine are pretty small in comparison.

I glance up to catch his eyes, but I'm a little surprised to see him already watching me. We're still for a moment before my breath catches and I pull away, fighting off my blush.

He leans forward with a teasing grin, shoving his hands in his pockets. "You're really cute when you get all nervous like that."

"Sh-shut up!" I push him back lightly, trying to get enough space to draw in a breath that doesn't make my face go red.

"I've learned that you telling me to 'shut up' is really just you saying 'stop making me blush.'"

"M-maybe if you didn't te-tease me all the time, I wouldn't blush! I just really like you..." I blurt out the words before I can stop myself and freeze.

That wipes the grin right off his face and his eyes dart around nervously. My heart sinks until I notice the tips of his ears turning a light shade of pink.

"Oh u-um... I like y-you too..."

A wave of relief crashes over me, a glowing warmth in my chest. "You like m- wait I made you stutter... That's the first t-time you've done that."

He meets my eyes almost embarrassed, running a hand through his hair. "Trust me, this is not the first time you've made me stutter... just the first time in front of you."

"Really?"

I put on a light smile and step closer to him, glancing up. My voice is teasing.

"...Do I make you nervous, Hitoshi?"

"F-fuck um..."

A bright blush is creeping up his neck and he can't seem to tear his eyes away from my gaze. It's strange to see the normally put together Hitoshi all flustered. For once, he's the one falling apart and I can almost see why he's always so keen to tease me.

We're still for a moment before he tears his eyes away, pulling himself together. When he glances back to me, he clears his throat before speaking.

"I don't think I ever really thought you liked me... like this. I kind of figured you were just an affectionate person and blushed easily. I wasn't gonna do this but Kaminari said..."

He trails off, face flushing brightly before he rushes through his next words.

"Willyoubemyboyfriend?"

I take a moment to make sense of what he said before my eyes suddenly get teary. I nod, smiling brightly. "Y-ye-yeah- I mean p-please uh yes. Yes.

I cover my face with my hands, desperately trying to get ahold of myself. Strong arms tug me forward into a warm embrace. His voice sounds concerned when he speaks next.

"Are you crying?"

I press further into his arms before responding. "I'm just really actually happy for the first time since..."

...since she died.

I can't say it aloud but the message is clear and obvious. He runs a hand through my hair with a light hum.

"I'm happy, too."
