The next day, Kirishima arrives at my house bright and early and we head to the mall. We quickly find the rest of the class waiting and soon we're wandering the mall.
"OH AREN'T THOSE THE YUUEI KIDS FROM THE FESTIVAL?! THE FRESHMEN!" A group of guys suddenly recognize us and I find myself hiding behind Kirishima a little.
Ignoring the fans, he throws an arm around my shoulder before addressing everyone else. "Hey guys! Since we all need different things, let's set a meeting time and split up!"
The next thing I know, I've been whisked away to a random store. Kirishima's babbling about everything and anything, content with a nearly one sided conversation.
I'm looking for a pair of swim trunks when I see a familiar fluff of indigo hair farther in the store.
"Ooh Kirishima- it's Hitoshi!" I gesture for him to follow me, excited.
"Who's Hitoshi?"
Ignoring the question, I come up behind the teen and look over his shoulder.
"You'd look good in the black one."
He barely jumps at the sound of my voice, turning to give me a tired smile. "[Y/n], what are you doing here?"
I grin cheekily, "Shopping, duh."
He shakes his head at my answer, "You know what I mean."
Kirishima jumps up beside me, "Ohh Shinso! Our class is going to a week long boot camp so we're all out shopping together!"
The lilac eyed teen deadpans. "Sounds like a lot of extra work. Be careful."
Glaring tiredly at Kirishima, he ruffles my hair and adds, "Don't let him get into trouble." The redhead nods solemnly, as if given a do or die mission.
I push Hitoshi away playfully, "I can keep myself out of trouble, thank you very much!" He rolls his eyes before I continue, "Anyway, I'll see you at school."
After we left Hitoshi at the store, its quiet for a moment before Kirishima speaks up. "We should have nicknames!"
I meet his bright smile with one of my own. "Nicknames? Like what?"
"You can call me something shorter like Kiri."
"Kiri?" I echo, testing the name out.
"Yeah! And you'll be... [N/n]!"
I laugh quietly, "Yeah, okay- [N/n] and Kiri."
The fun suddenly came to an end. We meet back with the group as the shopping mall is closed temporarily. My heart twists painfully when I hear the villain was with Midoriya. He gets taken to the police precinct and the rest of us are ushered away. Kirishima escorts me home, oddly silent on the way.
Before he heads to his own home, he offers a soft smile. "See ya at school, [N/n]."
"Yeah, see ya... Kiri."
The following school day, Aizawa-sensei talks about the event. "So, with that being the case, we ought to be more weary of the enemies' movements."
He tears up the guide he previously passed out. "The destination for the class trip will likely be changed... and the new location won't be announced until the day of the event."
The class groans in disappointment, but I feel slightly safer knowing that we'll be somewhere safer.
After school, I wander behind Midoriya and his friends when I see Shinso following Aizawa-sensei. He eyes the others before spotting me. A nearly invisible smile graces his features as he passes.
