I was gonna save this chapter but I hit a milestone so this is my 100 follower special!!!
We sit together in the field, watching the meteor shower in awed silence. Each time one crosses the sky, I find myself feeling just as amazed as the first.
I glance over to Hitoshi and my attention is snatched in seconds.
The stars reflect in his eyes, enchanting me. Dazzling me beyond belief. They dance, lights mingling in a lilac sky.
His hair ruffles in the slight breeze. Gentle and soft, it defies gravity effortlessly. Mesmerizing in the most unique way.
And his smile... His smile is so bright, so full of life it makes me forget to live.
Everything about him is alive.
Then he looks at me.
He looks at me and I know that nobody else gets this.
This look is for me.
It's so goddamn beautiful that it keeps me trapped in place.
Somehow, we've gotten so close that I can feel each breath between us.
A hand cards through my hair before caressing my cheek.
Time seems to stop, trapping us in this singular moment for eternity.
His gaze drop to my lips and my eyes drift shut as he closes the gap and finally-
we finally kiss.
Something lights up within me. Warm and bright, so brilliantly bright. It fills me and I can't even comprehend it.
When we part, I drop my head to his shoulder, breathless in more ways than one.
A hand lifts my chin and I meet his eyes. They're laced with something hazy and warm, keeping me in the here and now.
His smile is so soft and he looks at me as if I'm the most important thing in the world and, for a moment,
I wonder if I am.
His voice dances through the air, just barely a whisper.
"That okay?"
More than okay.
"Perfect."
And in this moment, I understand what it's like to feel complete.
Even if for just a moment...
I suddenly wake up, a furious blush burning across my cheeks. I smother my face in my pillow as I recount the dream and make a realization that strikes me to the core.
...I like Hitoshi Shinso.
