Kirishima was quick to follow Bakugou into battle, taking down villains rather quickly. I found myself feeling useless.
My quirk isn't suited for inflicting damage and while I managed to take down some bots during the entrance exam, I was doubting my abilities against real villains. The other two boys seemed to make the similar conclusions, circling around me.
I took to warning the two of them of any villains coming from where they weren't looking.
"Bakugou, to your left!"
At my direction, he spun around with a kick before knocking out the villain with a small explosion. Minutes later, most of the villains were down for the count.
"That's the last of them," Kirishima huffed.
"Buncha wimps," Bakugou added under his breath.
Both boys turned to me and Kirishima flashed me a reassuring smile. "Thanks for the warnings, [L/n]!"
He looked to Bakugou, before continuing. "We should hurry and go help the others. Since we're here, I bet everyone else is still in USJ. I'm worried about the guys who don't really have ways to attack," he trailed off, glancing at me.
Sighing, he added, "This wouldn't have happened if we didn't get in the way... We gotta take responsibili-"
He was cut off as Bakugou growled. "If thats what you want, then go ahead. I'm gonna go beat that mist guy to a pulp!" He turned his glare to me.
"You should just go hide somewhere before you get yourself killed!"
Kirishima moved between us, "You're still pulling immature crap at a time like this? Come on! Normal attacks don't work on him anyway-"
Bakugou shook his head, "Shut up! He's how they're getting around. Bring him down and they can't run. Besides, its not like I don't have a way to get him..."
I flinched as Bakugou suddenly lunged towards me, pulling me back to blowing up a villain that tried to sneak up behind me.
"I mean... If they're only sending these idiots, we should be fine." He lightly pushed me towards Kirishima who tossed an arm over my shoulder. I mumbled a quick thanks to the angry blonde.
"You sure are calm all the sudden," Kirishima grinned.
"I'm always calm, you damn broom-head!" Bakugou shouted, causing the redhead to laugh. "I'm outta here," the blonde turned to leave.
"Hold up. You gotta trust your pals! You've convinced me." Turning to me, he smiled. "Come on, [L/n]! I've got your back!"
We began to make our way to the fountain, Kirishima and Bakugou stopping any villains that we came across.
However, I eventually became a liability. As I called out warnings to the others, I failed to notice a lithe man come up behind me.
I let out a startled yelp as he gripped my hair, pulling me against him with claws over my chest.
"Hey! Freeze where you are or I won't hesitate to gut this one!"
My two classmates turned to us, immediately stopping in place. Kirishima's face fell to one of concern.
Bakugou made a move towards us and I felt the claws pierce my skin. I let out a small gasp.
"What the fuck did I say?" The villain tutted, yanking my hair up until I was on my toes.
"God fucking dammit!" The blonde growled angrily before lowering his hands reluctantly.
I frantically brainstormed for an idea before my eyes settled on our reflection on a storefront window. Armed with a plan, I flashed the others a quick smile.
Using the reflection, I popped out of the villain's grip and landed behind him. Swiftly kicking him behind the knee, he collapsed forward. Kirishima and Bakugou jumped back into action and finished off the villains.
Kirishima immediately rushed over to me. "Are you okay, man? You're bleeding!"
I pulled up my shirt, revealing five small cuts. Giving him a small smile, I opened one of my pockets and pulled out some antiseptic wipes and gauze. "I'll be fine. They seem to be superficial."
Bakugou wandered over to us, glaring. "You have a first aid kit? What are you? A fucking boyscout?"
I finished cleaning the cuts and smiled. "You can never be too prepared. Plus I think every hero should have one."
The blonde rolled his eyes and soon enough we were off again.
When we finally made it to the fountain, Bakugou immediately took off.
Spotting Aizawa-sensei being carried away by the frog girl and I turned to Kirishima. "Hey, I'm gonna go help sensei! Be careful, okay?"
He gave me a thumbs up, "You too!"
As he ran after Bakugou, I popped over to my amphibious peer. "Hey, I can get you to the entrance quicker."
I gently grabbed Aizawa's shoulder. "Hold on... this might feel strange." She took my hand and I popped us to the entrance, off to the side.
Taking off the outer layer of my costume, I bunched it up before placing it under Aizawa-sensei's head. I pushed the fear and panic at seeing my teacher like this aside, and took out my first aid kit.
I pulled on a pair of gloves, quickly addressing his injuries. I softly explained everything I did, in the off chance he could hear me.
I quickly ran down the ABC checklist. Once I was satisfied that his breathing wasn't an issue and his pulse was somewhat steady, I carefully checked his arms and found them to be fractured all over.
Wincing, I apologized, "Sorry sir... this is gonna hurt." I moved to his arms as carefully as possible and secured them in slings to prevent further damage.
I glanced down the stairs for a moment to see All Might fighting a strange bird creature. I noticed Midoriya and Todoroki were down there with Kirishima and Bakugou. Worry filled my chest as I watched the fight.
"Wow, you're pretty good at this, ribbit."
I was pulled out of my thoughts to see the frog girl watching me. "Um thanks, my mom is a trauma nurse so I picked up a few things from her," I trailed off, glancing at Aizawa-sensei's face. I wasn't quite sure how to help with his face. Most of my knowledge applies to other injuries.
I packed the kit away as there wasn't a lot more I could do other than monitor his vitals. At the sound of a crash, I turned to see the bird creature smashing through the top of the facility.
Remembering All Might's weather changing punch from the villain attack, I wasn't surprised to see him standing victoriously once again.
Moments later, the doors burst open revealing Iida and various pros from the school. They quickly took control of the situation and I was overcome with exhaustion as I finally relaxed. With all the adrenaline in my system, I didn't notice how far I had pushed myself.
I stood shakily as Mr. Aizawa was taken away. One of the EMTs praised me for my quick thinking but I barely heard him as I wandered over to the rest of the class.
