? Benevolence ?

This song is one of my absolute favorites and it's the inspiration behind this chapter.

After training one day, I find Hitoshi napping on my bed with Ryu curled up on his chest. He must've come to visit the kitten and accidentally fell asleep. The light from the window makes his hair a soft lavender and a gentle smile rests on his sleeping features.

After sneaking a few pictures, I decide to let him sleep and catch up on some homework in the meantime. I find it's rather peaceful with his soft breathing in the background mingling with Ryu's purrs.

I notice he wakes up after awhile but he stays put until faint music drifts to the room from someone else's dorm.

"Hey... [Y/n]?"

"Hm?"

When I turn to him, I notice a subtle glint in his eyes. He jumps to his feet and bows, offering his hand, grinning up at me playfully.

"May I have this dance?"

Struggling to contain a laugh, I nod and stand up, homework now forgotten.

"You may."

Taking my hand, he pulls me forward into his arms. Stumbling clumsily over each other's feet, we dance to the music. A startled giggle escapes my lips when he spins me suddenly and the resulting smile on his face is priceless.

The room is quickly filled with hushed laughter. I find myself slipping away from reality, stuck in our own little pocket of space. Nothing can compare to the way he smiles when we're alone.

As the song draws to a close, he lowers me into a dip and time slows. His eyes are alight with charm, mesmerizing in the most delightful of ways. The curve of his smile is soft, downright beautiful. I'm left breathless in his gaze.

Then he pulls me back up. His hands rest on my waist for a moment, keeping me still- holding me close. He speaks in a hushed whisper.

"You suck at dancing."

"Like you're any better...!"

His quiet laugh is a deep rumble in his chest and I drop my head to his shoulder, lost to the world.
