? Benevolence ?

I'm startled awake the next morning by loud knocking at my door. A quick glance at my phone shows it's 6 in the morning. I have no idea who would come to my door this early but I roll out of bed and pop over to my door.

I'm surprised to find the support student, Hatsume, standing in my doorway. She grins excitedly and bounces in place, reaching for my arm.

"Hey! [L/n]! I got something for you! Come with me! C'mon!"

"Wha- I'm still in my pajamas!"

She ignores my protest and I find myself being dragged off towards the school by the pink haired girl. She leads me to the support class workshop and digs around for a minute.

"Ah! I've been waiting all week for you to get back! Check this baby out!"

She spins around, holding up an item that sort of looks like bluetooth earbuds people use when running.

"Uh... what's it do?"

"I'm glad you asked! Here! Try it on!"

I slip the item on curiously but nothing happens. Then Hatsume picks up a wrench and swings it at my head. I manage to duck just in time, adrenaline coursing through my veins.

"Hatsume! What are you doing?!"

She grins, gesturing to my head with the wrench. "Showing you how it works! Don't worry, I've already tested it out myself so I know it'll be fine! Just stay still!"

I'm nervous but she hasn't put me in harms way before so I decide to give her the benefit of the doubt. I force myself to stay still when she swings the wrench again but I'm surprised to find it never reaches my head.

I can hear a faint buzzing but from what I can tell, there's nothing in between my head and the tool. I'm speechless for a moment.

"How...?"

She grins brilliantly, eager to explain.

"When it senses a severe shift in balance or when an object with a high velocity is identified as a possible threat, it activates and protects the wearer's head in an instant by manipulating stored plasma into a protective barrier!"

"Hatsume, th-that's incredible! But why're you showing me?"

"Your teacher! He came in here talking about how you always got head injuries a while ago and how you needed something to prevent that! It took a little while because I wanted to be something that didn't clash with your overall appearance! The barrier is invisible to the naked eye so you get all the protection of a helmet with none of the clunky appearance! Anyway, we've already got permission for the upgrade so you can just take it now!"

I slip the item off, smiling. "I... thank you, Hatsume. You really are a genius."

I should probably stop relying on unconsciousness and concussions as a plot device so now he's got a helmet!
Also I have no idea if plasma can actually be manipulated into a barrier/shield thing but anything is possible in the world of quirks so here we are!
