Final Part: But I Won't Fall
It had been over five years, three years since Kadaj and (Y/n) had taken off and left their friends and family behind.
“Hey, Love!” Kadaj called, “Have you seen the cat? I think he followed me outside!"
“I saw him in the bedroom.” (Y/n) yelled back, she turned around and saw the cat on the table, she then yelled, “Actually, he’s in here!”
“Okay!” Kadaj yelled back, walking into the kitchen. He went to pet the cat but it swiped at him and hissed. “I'll win you over one day, stupid cat.”
(Y/n) giggled, she turned around to face him.
“Maybe he just doesn't like you.” She smirked, Kadaj wrapped his arms around her waist.
“I'm the one who feeds him. You're just spoiling him.” Kadaj leaned in and kissed her, "He's just ungrateful."
(Y/n) couldn't help but giggle at the small feud with Kadaj and their cat. Since the two had runaway together, they had gotten a house along with a small cat. The house was quite a ways from the town, but it was surrounded by lush green fields, and (Y/n) had managed to convince Kadaj to plant flowers. Along with the house they made, they welcomed a few small surprises along the way. One of them, the small grey cat that always fought with Kadaj. (Y/n) had recused it from a small cardboard box that was on the side of a grocery store.
"Anyway, I need to get some shopping done." (Y/n) tried to move past Kadaj, but he only tightened his grip on her waist.
"No, you don't." He smirked, he then picked up her, making her squeal. Kadaj picked her up and placed her on the counter.
"Kadaj!" She screamed, laughing while Kadaj placed himself between her legs, kissing her lips. She wrapped her legs around his hips, while wrapping his arms around his neck. Their lips moved in unison, while the kiss got more passionate.
"We can do the shopping another day." Kadaj said, breaking the kiss, leaning against her. (Y/n) smiled and shocked her head.
"And how are we going to eat tonight, you know it's not just the cat who gets upset when they miss a meal." (Y/n) smirked, she went to get down but Kadaj kept her still, he leaned in and gave her one last kiss.
"You know us too well." Kadaj said, he then lifted her up and off the counter, gently placing her on the ground.
"Man the fort till I get back?" (Y/n) asked, walking over to the table to get her coat on.
"Yeah, I got it." Kadaj said, (Y/n) smirked and left.
"I'll be back in twenty minutes." She waved, before slipping out and closing the door behind himself.

(Y/n) and Kadaj had managed to live happy lives for years, but unfortunately their friends and family haven't stopped their search. They searched far and wide for them. Since Yazoo and Loz had made a truce with Cloud and his team, they worked together to find their missing brother and (Y/n). For years, they never lost their hope to find Kadaj and (Y/n). But, they had taken so many leads that ended up to be a dead end.
But this one lead, led everyone to the small town where they were located. No one knew if this was going to be the one, but it was the last place to check. All they had to do was ask if anyone had seen the two, or even one of them. Everyone was split up, Loz, Yazoo, Cloud, Yuffie, Vincent, and Tifa went to the town that they thought (Y/n) and Kadaj were at. While Barret, Cid, Red, and Cait went to check another town.
"What if this isn't it? How many more places do we search until we give up?" Yuffie asked, Cloud shook his head.
"We would never give up. If one of us went missing, (Y/n) wouldn't stop till she found them." Cloud defended, Tifa nodded.
"That's true." She said, Yuffie nodded. But, she was tired, everyone was tired.
"What about Kadaj?" Loz asked Yazoo, who looked very tired.
"He'll be fine, we'll find him." Yazoo tried to encourage his brother, but Loz looked to have given up.
"You said that five years ago.." Loz trialed off, his tone filled with utter defeat.
