this is perfect boyfriend in Sophie's POV!! prompts/oneshot suggestions??
Sophie was blissfully oblivious to the tension building around her. The restaurant was quiet, save for the low murmur of conversation from their group, and the soft glow of the lights felt comforting. Keefe had already finished his food, and so had she. She liked these moments—the ones where they could just be together, no rush, no obligations, simply enjoying each other's company.
Keefe had laid down in her lap without asking, his head resting on her legs as she absentmindedly ran her fingers through his messy blonde hair. She'd gotten so used to this routine—the way his hair felt soft between her fingers, the way he let himself relax so fully with her, his breathing slow and steady. It was the kind of intimacy they shared in their quietest moments.
"I think you're the best pillow," he mumbled, his voice muffled by the fabric of her pants.
Sophie smiled, gently brushing a lock of hair from his face. "Glad I'm so comfortable for you."
The rest of the gang was still chatting, but Sophie could feel Biana's gaze flickering between her and Keefe. It wasn't just a casual glance, though; there was something more—something lingering in the way Biana looked at them. Sophie had caught it a few times now, and each time, it made her stomach tighten. Biana wasn't saying anything, but Sophie could sense her friend's thoughts running wild.
She shifted slightly, adjusting her position as Keefe stirred in her lap. His eyes were closed now, his face peaceful and content. Sophie stroked his hair again, her fingers gently gliding through the strands. She felt his warmth, his exhaustion settling in from the day's events. He had a way of making her feel at ease, just by being near her.
Keefe's hand rested gently on her knee, his thumb making slow circles over her skin. She glanced down at him, her heart swelling at the sight of him so relaxed in her lap. She hadn't even realized how much she loved these simple moments—the quiet connection, the way he trusted her completely.
"You're seriously making me fall asleep," Sophie teased, her hand pausing in his hair as she looked at him fondly.
Keefe cracked an eye open and smirked, his voice barely audible as he answered, "Only if you don't stop playing with my hair."
Sophie laughed softly, a warmth spreading through her chest as she continued to play with his hair, enjoying the sound of his quiet chuckles. But as she did, her gaze shifted back to Biana. She could see her friend watching them intently, her eyes fixed on Sophie and Keefe with a strange look on her face. Sophie frowned, her fingers stilling in Keefe's hair for just a moment as she tried to read Biana's expression.
"Everything okay?" Sophie asked softly, her voice light but full of concern.
Biana quickly looked away, flashing a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. "Yeah, just tired," she said quickly, but Sophie didn't miss the sharp edge in her tone.
Sophie opened her mouth to ask if Biana was sure, but before she could, Biana turned back to the group, clearly trying to hide whatever it was she was feeling. Sophie hesitated, wondering if she'd misread the situation, but something about the way Biana had looked at her and Keefe made her stomach knot.
She turned her attention back to Keefe, his face relaxed again as he drifted further into rest. His head still rested on her lap, his hand loosely placed on her knee. Sophie ran her fingers through his hair again, her thoughts drifting. She wanted to understand what was going on with Biana, but Keefe was here with her, and she couldn't help but feel this overwhelming sense of gratitude for him. She leaned down slightly and kissed the top of his head, her lips lingering there for a brief moment before she pulled back. It was a soft gesture, one of comfort and affection.
"You're so sweet," she whispered under her breath, brushing a few strands of hair from his forehead.
Keefe stirred slightly but didn't wake. Sophie smiled down at him, brushing her lips over his hair again, this time a little longer, more affectionate. His soft breathing was like a lullaby, and she felt a rush of warmth in her chest, knowing that no matter what happened, she would always have moments like this—quiet, simple, and full of love.
The group continued to chat, but Sophie couldn't stop thinking about Biana. She'd never seen her act that way before—so distant, so focused on them. It made her wonder if she was reading it all wrong, but a part of her couldn't shake the feeling that Biana's jealousy was simmering just beneath the surface. Sophie didn't know what to do about it. She and Biana had been friends for so long, and this was the last thing she wanted to come between them. But something about the look in Biana's eyes made her heart ache with uncertainty.
Keefe shifted in her lap again, his eyes slowly opening, and a lazy smile tugged at his lips. He gazed up at her, his expression soft, full of affection.
"You're the best," he murmured sleepily.
Sophie grinned, brushing her fingers through his hair once more. "Love you too, Keefe."
He laughed softly, nuzzling into her lap. Sophie's heart fluttered. It felt like everything was right in this moment. She didn't know what was going on with Biana, but she knew that right here, right now, she had Keefe—and that was enough.
But as she looked at him, she couldn't help but notice a twinge of guilt in the back of her mind, wondering if she could do something to help Biana with whatever was troubling her. For now, though, she focused on the quiet comfort of having Keefe in her lap, the soft sound of his breathing, and the peaceful connection they shared.
