Sophie stood at the edge of the cliff, looking down at the world below her, feeling the pull of power coursing through her veins. The Black Swan, her former allies, stood on the other side, tense and prepared to fight. But Sophie wasn't the girl they used to know anymore.
A dark aura surrounded her, her once gentle features now sharp with malice. She had no intention of joining the Neverseen; no, she was going solo. This was her moment. She had her plans, her power, and no one could stop her.
The Black Swan's team tried to approach, but Sophie just waved her hand lazily. They froze, unable to move, unable to speak.
"Oh, this is new," Sophie mused, a smirk playing on her lips as she glanced down at them. "I didn't even know I could do this... but it seems like I can paralyze all of you with just a thought. Nice little trick, don't you think?" She gave them a mock salute, her eyes gleaming with dark amusement.
Sophie turned away from the statues of her friends, examining the large control panel in front of her. "So... let's see. Where should I take over next? Japan? Ooh, maybe Paris? I could turn Amy evil, check out the boutiques—maybe even buy myself something shiny for my evil empire." She let out a wicked laugh, knowing that no one could respond.
Her gaze fell on a large red lever in front of her, with a sign above it reading, Volcanic Eruption: 10 Minutes.
"Ah, here we go," Sophie said, walking toward it. "If I push this lever, the volcano should erupt and destroy the country. Let's test it out."
With a dramatic flourish, she pushed the lever down. An automated voice responded, its tone robotic and emotionless.
"Lever pushed. Volcanic eruption is 10 minutes."
"10 minutes?" Sophie raised an eyebrow and smirked. "Great! That means we've got just enough time for a group selfie." She turned, her eyes landing on the paralyzed figures of her former friends—her family—standing frozen in place.
She walked over to them, a smile that could only be described as evil spreading across her face.
"Everybody say 'Evil'!" Sophie's voice was sweetly mocking as she clicked her phone and snapped a picture. "Perfect. So now, all I need is my LavaProof suit..."
With a tap of her watch, Sophie was suddenly dressed in a sleek, pitch-black suit, tailored perfectly to her form.
"Oh, I am SO keeping this for evil prom," Sophie exclaimed, admiring herself in a nearby reflection. "Look at me, I'm stunning."
A strangled grunt echoed from Marella, and Sophie turned to face her.
"Oh, right, you're still stuck," Sophie said nonchalantly, snapping her fingers. "Time to throw you in the lava."
The moment her fingers snapped, the Black Swan team was no longer frozen. Their movements returned, but they were met with the chaos Sophie had set in motion. Marella staggered forward, shouting, but Sophie's attention was on the gadget that suddenly appeared in Mr. Forkle's hand.
The next moment, there was a strange whirring noise, and Sophie felt a sharp tug at her chest. Something was pulling the very essence of her darkness away, sapping the power that had consumed her. She gasped, the sudden weightlessness in her body knocking her off balance.
"My p-powers, whats happening?" Sophie murmured, stumbling backward.
Before she could fall, Keefe rushed to her side, catching her in his arms. "Sophie... are you alright?" he asked, his voice soft and concerned.
But before she could answer, Mr. Forkle stepped forward, holding the gadget up to her chest. It emitted a strange hum, and Sophie felt as if the darkness inside her was being drained away, piece by piece.
"I... may have created a gadget that inserted evil power into Sophie," Mr. Forkle said with a grimace. "But I've taken it out now."
Sophie slumped against Keefe, her head spinning. "What... what...where...how..."
Keefe tightened his grip on her, pulling her close. "It's okay. You're okay now."
Her head felt foggy, her mind racing to make sense of what had just happened. "Shut up, Keefe," Sophie groaned, feeling the lingering effects of the power drain.
Keefe kissed her forehead gently, relief flooding his chest. "I'm glad you're not still evil," he whispered, his voice filled with emotion.
Sophie sighed, leaning into him, but the soft smile on her face was genuine now, free from the shadows that had once consumed her. She was back. And nothing—not even her own power—could take her away from the people who mattered.
She was Sophie Foster again.
And Keefe would make sure she stayed that way.
