wait this is so me, in 6th grade, i couldnt take the pressure and i held planks while doing homework on the floor at 1 or 2 am(because i was on the volleyball team and had to stay fit). lets just say my body that year was flawless. ( bring back 6 grade me)

Keefe wandered down the hallway, eyes heavy with sleep, when he passed Sophie's room. He paused, hearing a soft sound from inside. Curiosity got the best of him, and he pushed the door open slightly, only to find Sophie holding a plank in the middle of the floor, her eyes bleary and focused on a pile of homework sprawled out in front of her.

"Foster...what?" he said, his voice rough with sleep as he rubbed his eyes.

Sophie didn't immediately look up, though she gave a tired grunt. "Mmm... I have to work out and do this homework and tra—"

"No." Keefe cut her off, stepping into the room. He couldn't believe she was still doing this to herself. Without another word, he crossed the room in a few strides, carefully scooping her up and setting her gently on the bed, his arms firm but tender.

"Sleep," he commanded softly. "You can do it tomorrow. I'll wake you up early to finish it."

Sophie groaned in protest, her body sinking into the softness of the bed, but she didn't argue further. Instead, she moved closer to him, her arms pulling him down into the bed as she pushed at the collar of his shirt, nudging it down so his chest was pressed against hers. The position felt... odd, almost like a waffle maker, with Keefe on top, but Sophie didn't seem to mind. She nestled into him, her face buried in his chest, a soft sigh escaping her lips as she finally allowed herself to relax.

Keefe let out a small laugh, the sound soft and affectionate as he adjusted to her weight, making sure she was comfortable. "You're impossible, you know that?" he whispered, his hands gently stroking her hair, trying to get her to fully relax.

"Shut up," Sophie mumbled against him, her voice muffled but still filled with affection. She curled into him further, her body finally unwinding as the exhaustion took over.

Keefe smiled to himself, his heart swelling with love for the girl who was so stubborn and driven. He pressed a gentle kiss to her forehead, whispering one more time, "You deserve a break, Sophie. Tomorrow, we'll handle everything, okay?"

Sophie didn't respond with words, but her quiet breathing told him everything he needed to know—she was already asleep, safe and content in his arms. And for the first time in what felt like forever, Keefe allowed himself to drift off too, knowing that everything would still be okay.
