Ethan and Ashley have returned from the mall , great, I can finally greet everyone.
" Is Lauren still asleep ?" Aunt Stephany asks .
I hear her as I approach the dining hall where they are all sitting and enjoying their breakfast.
" I'm not sure..."
" Good morning everyone !" I make my entrance.
They all pause when they see me ," aren't you a bit overdressed for a BBQ?" Collen asks .
I analyze my outfit like I wasn't staring at my reflection for a whole hour , If mirrors could talk a lot of people would be dying of embarrassment and be too afraid to walk on the streets .
" Ash is also overdressed" I try diverting their attention.
" She's not overdressed- she's not dressed ,there's a difference " Aunt Stephany mocks.
" Mom ! " She says flustered.
Ashley is wearing her short leather skirt with a bra like top and I'm wearing my all time fave - a white two piece suit by Andrea LUC .
" This is a casual day , why not put on some regular jeans and regular top ?" Ethan asks.
We exchange glares .
" I don't know honey , I just felt like wearing this today " .
He decides to keep quiet and continues staring at me like I'm an art piece at the exhibition.
" Where's dad ? " , My dad and Ethan's are nowhere to be seen.
" Your yard has a golf course,so take a wild guess ".
" So how are you going to help me wearing that ?," Ethan cuts Aunt off with his focus on me .
" We are Cooking?" I look around.
" Do you suggest we let the guests and the elders cook ?, Aren't we the hosts?" .
"This is one of the many reasons I love Ethan, I was worried I was going to have to chop onions , let's go Ash and leave them before they change their minds " Collen pulls Ashley away .
Ashley's middle name is attitude but today she's on another level ,she kept sneering by herself, I wonder if Ethan upset her on their mini trip .
" We don't mind helping you Ethan ,your wife doesn't look too fond of the idea plus she's already dressed don't you think it'll be kind of cruel to make her cook ? And she's also carrying baby Price ,she should be treated like the queen " Aunt Stephany tries to persuade him.
" I always treat my Lauren like a queen but the BBQ was her idea and honestly I like doing these things with her , and we all know food cooked with love is usually...".
" Alright alright" she lifts her hands in surrender," I get it , Lauren you are going to have to change out of that thing before you ruin it " she says as she takes her leave. It's just the two of us now.
I glance at Ethan who went from being all smiles to being neutral .
" Well Aren't you changing?" He puts his apron on .
