" Is there something going on between you and my wife ?" Ethan boldly questions us watching Kam intensely.

Kam and I freeze .

" Where is that question coming from?" He puts his pizza down ," because of the anniversary?".

" No , I am thankful for what you did but only a person who knows too much would do what you did , I heard you attended dad's Dalfi and you didn't say anything to me , don't you think I deserved to hear it from you instead of my Aunt in law ".

Kam pauses ," oh " he looks at me , probably wondering why I haven't told him that Ethan knows," I heard the conversation Sarah had with the security, I had to follow her and find out what she was up to ".

" So that means you know about us ?" His friendly demeanor disappears.

" What about you ?"Kam pretends to be clueless," I know married couples have their issues and just like all of them you guys have your own , I wish I knew the full story but I'm good with not knowing either and about the Dalfi -we bumped into each other at the airport and  Caitlyn kind of invited me " he lies .

Ethan glares at Kam like he has a million dollar question to ask but can't because of Kam's reply.

" oh " he has no choice but to take it ," I'm relieved it wasn't Lauren ,so you are just friends then?" ,At this point it feels like the two of them know they are both lying to each other but are forced to play along.

My heart rate increases, we both nod ," as far as we know" he responds.

" That's great " his smile resurfaces," like I said Lauren and I are working on our issues hence the whole remarriage thing, a third party is the last thing we need , just make sure to keep your crush as nothing more than that , I'd really appreciate it .that's the only way you and I can be on good terms ,it's important that we stay on good terms for the hundred thousand people that are already employed for  the lit project " Ethan says.

" That sounded like a threat " Kam looks at me.

" No , it wasn't, I was just putting it out there , your harmless crush tends to worry me , I don't like the way you look at my wife " he expresses.

" Fair enough " Kam surrenders ," I also have to put it out there how disappointed I am in you for cheating on your beautiful wife with your ex , we all know you used to love Sarah but as a married man you should know your limits, I am going to give you an earful about it once Lauren disappears as your friend I feel like that is my duty".

" You said it yourself you don't know the full story ".

" True but I heard everything Sarah said even a kid can make out the situation between you guys ".

He chuckles ," I was wrong , but my wife and I are working on it , everything will be fine. I just don't want to give up without trying, I already expressed that to Lauren "

"Really ? ,And Are you okay with that Lauren?, Don't you want to leave " he asks me softly.

I clear my throat before answering," um ...".

" Hey , as my wingman you are supposed to vouch for me not suggest that she leaves me , we are not dating - we are married, it's not something you can easily break off " .

" But you aren't really married" .

" What do you mean we're not married?.

Kams phone rings before he can respond, " I'll be right back " he lifts from his chair and exits the office , the tension on the atmosphere decreases .

He becomes his stiff self again.

" He knows more about us then he lets on doesn't he ?" He asks.

I shrug ," yes " I murmur .

" And there's nothing going on between you two ?".

" No , I drank passed my tolerance level at dads Dalfi and ended up saying some stuff to him , I don't remember what I said exactly" I add to Kam's lie .

He doesn't say whether he believes me or not and jumps into another subject." how about we go away together?".

" On a vacation?" .

He nods quietly.

" Where ?".

" Rome ".

" You already went there with Sarah " , I forgot that he doesn't know that I'm aware of that .

" She told you " his eyes fall .

" No I saw the tickets".

" Oh ".

" she always wanted to go to Egypt, how did you end up taking her to my favourite place?" I boldly ask .

He sighs ," you wouldn't understand ".

" Then a vacation is probably not a good idea , I still haven't made up my mind yet , you said you wouldn't pressure me , a vacation sure feels like it  " I lift from my couch , "I'll check on my office,thanks for the pizza " I stride out of his.

I hate that he won't let me in, he has no idea how much I miss that Ethan who used to tell me everything, I want to forgive him for how he treated me but how am I supposed to do that when he hasn't even apologized properly?, I want to know what was going on in his head and how he came up with the idea to portray perfect husband infront of people and be a monster husband with me , unless that happens Kam is the one I'll choose.
