A loud knock wakes me from my sleep  , I dozed off on my desk ," come in !" fixing my hair with my fingertips.

Miranda meets my eyes .

" Were you sleeping?" She asks .

" No of course not, I was just ...." I can't find an excuse.

She scoffs ," then are you aware that almost everyone has left except for the security?" She strides toward my desk.

Her navy blazer with light blue jeans get my attention , it's not an ideal combo but she makes it look like on.

" Is it ?" I check the clock on my wall and laugh at myself," yes I was sleeping " .

" Mr price asked me to give you these " she opens her palms to reveal my car keys.

" Oh , he left ?" , Of course he left , in his mind he probably thinks I'm responsible for all that happened, it's my fault, it has always been my fault , I could tell just by the way he left that he was furious at me for blaming it all on him .

" Yep, after firing Kelly and Elizabeth" she adds .

" What ?" My eyes widen.

" You didn't hear the commotion downstairs?" .

" No I...".

"Already asleep I assume, he literally promised to ruin them and that they'd Never find another job in this country regardless of their qualifications " she stares at me ," I thought you'd be able to help me understand what exactly happened but I guess you are as unaware ".

My mind trails off , " yeah I have no idea " . I hastily pack all my things .

She watches me until I finish and says ," all ready ?".

I nod .

" Let's go" she carries my other bag.

As we head towards the elevator she tells me something that doesn't sit well with me ," Kayden and I are finally going on a date , for three days , he's taking me to his hometown" she blushes .

" Really?" I blink numerous times to check if I'm awake.

" Yep. I'm kind of nervous".

" You ?, Nervous?".

She scoffs ," I know everyone sees me as this power slash wonder woman ,I am that only here at work but outside work I'm a normal human , I get anxious as well ".

" I heard you divorced your husband over something a lot of people would consider trivial and that's the very attitude you have here at work so what exactly are you talking about?".

She stares at me not answering my question," have you always been like this or has the dynamic change in your marriage change you too ?".

I shrug ," what am I like ?" .

" I don't know,you just seem like a different person, you are not that little Lauren we used to know ".

" Little?" .

" I don't meant that in an offensive way but I think you know what I mean ".

I reflect for a few moments," yeah ,even I don't feel like Lauren " I don't know if thats a good thing or a bad thing.

Awkward silence lingers .

" You are right the whole just human thing is a cover , I think it's because it's Kayden ".

I nod waiting to hear more.

" I told you this before, I don't want to miss this opportunity with him , to me he's the world's most incredible , sweet ,funny and handsome guy ,and it's unusual to find such characteristics in one person, I love everything about him , the way he talks , how gentle and considerate he is , he's literally my dream man , I promised myself that if he ever gives me the chance I will never give him the chance to slip away" .
