Ethan and I are in the car on our way home , I'm resisting the urge to fight him as to why he didn't tell me about Mirandas engagement, I'm certain that he knows.

" Should we eat out ?" He asks ," though I'm not sure if that's such a good idea since all eyes are on us ".

His words bounce off my ears .

" Lauren?" .

" Huh?" I remove my tumb's fingernail from my mouth ," yes , that would be great ".

" We'll go to Desin ".

" Desin?".

" A Korean restaurant, they have different rooms inside , you can't see your neighbour , it's not like the normal open restaurants that we are used to , you can book the bigger one with a big table if you're bringing your family but if it's just two people then you can pick the smaller ones" He explains.

My mind is still on Austin , we arrive at the restaurant and the Korean waitress leads us to our table room giving us the basic instructions ,if we want to order than we are to press the red button beside the small and incredibly low table .

" I guess these pillows are our chairs  then ".

" just as the Korean lady explained ".

" I see " my expression falls.

" What are you thinking about?" He notices.

I'm unable to stop myself from being mad about Austin's engagement he's who my mind keeps drifting to , I was certain that I'm over him but now I just don't know,it must be the hormones.

" Nothing , actually I heard Miranda is leaving,I'm worried how the office will cope without her ".

" I'm sure we'll find someone who is as competent or nearly ".

" But she loves Price oils,why would she want to leave us ?, It's absurd ".

" She's getting married " he answers.

" You knew ?".

" I saw the ring " he answers lamely.

" And you didn't ask her ".

" I didn't have to " .

" true " , not wanting him to think I still have feelings for Austin ," I'm happy for them , I wish them all the best " .

" Really?" He's not convinced.

" Yeah really, I got over Austin a longtime ago , I don't think I ever loved him , I'm happy he has found someone who truly does " .

He sighs , " if you say you are happy for them then I believe you ,let's not talk about them ,I'd rather we talk about us" .

I wish I could read his mind to know what he was thinking before he sighed.

" I'm excited about the new house" I change the subject.

" a new environment is something we both need " ,his stale tone says he is mad about something but everything else about him says he isn't, he must think I'm lying when I say I've moved on from Austin.

We order our refreshments first.

" How much did it cost ?" .

" What ?".

" The house ".

"Oh .no need to bother about that ".

" still , I'd like to know ".

"Four times it's normal market price " he doesn't hesitate.

" What ?" I gasp ," seriously?".

He nods like it was nothing," they weren't selling the place and the couple used it to make money, only an incredible offer could make them agree".

" Wow " , my heart pounds uncontrollably, Ethan is over invested in this change than I am ," thank you ,you didn't have to but thank you ".

" I had to ,that was a small price to pay for our future ".

I blush and come to the remembrance of something that I feel needs to be addressed,I don't want him to think otherwise about me.

" Should we talk about last night?".

" What about last night?" He acts like he doesn't know .

" When we kissed ".

" And you are wondering if I'm mad because we haven't consummated  our marriage yet ?".

I look for other ways to say yes but my eyes end up answering.

He puts his fork down ," Lauren, I'm not mad , I made a vow to not rush you into doing something you are uncomfortable with".

" It's not that I'm uncomfortable...".

He laughs," relax Honey, I understand it's fine ".

' no you don't understand, I'm carrying someone else's child, I don't want to add more to your fury by sleeping with you , there's no way you understand ' a tinny voice replies.

" Lauren , I love you , that's the truth , and I know you love me since you chose me , I'm confident that you and I will find a way to make things work,  I've said this a thou...." ,His phone cuts him off,he quickly snatches it from the table ," I'll be right back " he excuses himself.

He returns after twenty minutes with a sly frown on his face ,he changes it the moment our eyes meet and goes to neutral.

Andrew has been having a lot of one on one sessions with Ethan , she cancelled three of my appointments and replaced them with his , I'm certain that she has discovered that secret room I'm still trying to locate in Ethan's life

" Where were we? " He sits back down .

" What was that about ?" I master the courage to ask him .

" Work " he says plainly sitting down .

" Oh " , his answer wasn't convincing.

"I have a surprise for you but I'll give it to you at the ceremony" .

" What is it ?" .

" It's a surprise " he says charmingly.

" Mind giving me a hint ?" .

" No ".

I frown at his response.

" Just a tinsy tiny one ".

He smiles ," no dear wife I will not. save your energy".

" Then you should've just kept it to yourself and revealed it to me on the auspicious occasion".

" I want you to hurt your head trying to figure out what it is but don't stress too much that wouldn't be good for your health, just know that you'll love it " he smiles again.

We start talking and laughing about the things that happened at the wedding , it still feels surreal,I know it happened but it feels like I was playing a role in a livestream movie.

" Thank you " I cut him off from his story about what uncle Jerry did at the wedding.

He stops ," what for this time?" .

" Making me the happiest woman on earth. Seeing you happy like this makes me happy " even if it's momentarily.

He sighs ," stop thanking me for my responsibilities,I'm simply righting the wrongs " he says vaguely.

" And I'm thankful for that ".

He nods shyly and continues with his meal ," want more ?" He asks looking at my empty plate.

He doesn't wait for my response before ringing the bell and makes the order for me of the same dish I just had , sometimes its almost as if Ethan knows I'm pregnant he treats me the way a husband treats his pregnant wife, he voluntarily takes off my shoes before climbing to bed , he fixes my pillows in the middle of the night and I make certain that I don't make the mistake of opening my eyes to avoid any form of awkwardness.

But I'm certain that's just his way of communicating his apology . After finishing my second meal Ethan and I take off .
