Chapter 35

" That deep " I stare at the floor lost in my own thoughts.

" Yes , he's the kind of guy I want to father my children, even if he makes the same mistake as my ex husband I wouldn't even have to blink before forgiving him , I guess that's why I'm nervous, I have this whole plan for us that just have to become a reality that I can't afford to do wrong , any pointers ?".

She's talking about Kam with so much passion in her eyes it makes me feel guilty, I just don't know about what .

" Earth to Mrs Price" she snaps her fingers in front of me.

" Huh ? , Uh , just be yourself, I think he's the kind of person who values honesty " I know he loves honesty , and " another thing I think he's attracted to vulnerability, reveal your weakness to him " , I honestly advice her.

" Weakness?" .

" I think too much strength has a way of intimidating men ,just trust me on this one " , an easy way to Kam's heart is a heartbreaking story, he feels for other people, he makes their problem his, he has a way of seeping into people's emotions ,that's just who he is .

" I mean you were able to change the heart of a very stubborn man so I'm going to trust you , if it fails then you are going to have to convince Ethan to give me a 3000 dollars raise ".

" Deal " I smile lightly.

We walk all the way to our cars , and find Kam waiting in Mirandas.

" Is that him in your car ?"I try to look .

"Mhmm , we are heading straight to the airport after I get my bags at my house " .

He hops out the car with a huge smile , " all ready?" He asks her.

" Yep " she gives me my bag and  waltz over to him ," I'll see you around Lauren" she waves at him.

" Have a great weekend!" I smile brightly at them .

Kam doesn't even meet my eyes and escorts Miranda to the passenger's seat , I don't know what he says to her to make them both laugh .

They drive away and I'm left thinking' lucky them ' , I wish them the best , they are both great people and they deserve to be happy, I pray that they hit it off .

As for me I'm right where I belong, Ethan is an amazing husband, he fired those two because of me ? , This shows me just how serious he is about us , he  brought my car for me even though  he said he was planning to do nothing the whole day and just laze out.

a text from Caitlyn pops up.on my phone .

" Get here now !" She demands.

I rush all the way to her shop and it's the busiest as it's ever been.

I put on my sunglasses and head inside,she takes off her apron when she sees me and calls Milos to take over.

Although she is smiling I can see the fury in her eyes .

She approaches me and grabs me by the wrist to the storage room.

" What is the occasion?, Are you running a special?" .

" The shop is always packed after 10 , but ever since your pregnancy announcement it has been more packed people come here in expectance of meeting you because they know now that I'm your sister, either way that's not the reason why I called you here, I read the magazine that everyone has been talking about all afternoon and I saw something very disturbing on Austin's Snapchat" .

I wait for her to tell me what made her unblock me .

" Did you break up with Austin?, Like for real for real ?" She asks .

" Yes , I expressed that to you weeks ago".

She starts laughing," no ways my baby sister is this foolish? it makes no sense " .

I let her rant " I was going to come with Ethan to your place tomorrow ".

" To do what ?".

" You asked me to bring him over ".

She huffs in disbelief," that's because I didn't believe that you'd be so stupid , I thought you cooked the whole thing up because of your Ethan fantasies, did you really let a good man like Austin go for an abuser like Ethan ?" She looks at me in disapproval.

" It is because of my relationship with Ethan that your shop has started getting even media attention , you said so yourself a minute ago , if people find out that we ahve separated they'll stop growing interest even in those around us , doesn't that mean you'll lose business too ?".

The heat rises between us.

" since when do I care about those things ?, Are you saying you are with him because of my business receiving more attention ? , Isn't that the excuse you used in those days when you used to do nothing but cry ? , Didn't you claim that you wanted me to keep Moms coffee shop that's why you were bearing it all ?, Now I see that was nothing but an excuse, you never stayed with him because of dad or me , it was all for you!". She shouts at my face .

" Shh, people will hear you " .

" So what?! , Let them hear , how stupid they're favourite first lady is !, Get out Lauren!", She commands.

" What ?".

" I used to stay up all night worried if Ethan didn't hit you with a hot iron , feeling guilty that you were putting us first when that was hardly the case , there are days when I skipped food and fasted for your sake , when Austin came in I thought huh ,the Lord has answered my prayers my sister will finally be free and live the life she has always desired , but no , you were lying to me all along , you are dangerously in love with that monster of yours , what else is there for me to say except to ask you to leave ?, It's your life ,go and die if that's what you want I'm done worrying about you " .

She attempts to leave , " so what ?" .

She stops , tears start streaming down my eyes ," he is my husband, you know nothing about him ".

" I know that he is evil , what else should I know about him?, Husband my foot" she drags my self esteem down with just her eyes that are filled with disgust.

" He is not evil , you don't know what he did for me today ".

" I don't care ".

" Well you should, he's the reason you can pick up your phone and call dad and he answers".

" Don't give me that bullshit again, I won't buy it , you deliberately threw yourself into the lion's den for your own selfish reasons and you somehow managed to twist it in your own head  and say that it was for us, you are as messed up as he is , I'm blocking you for real this time, I was just giving you a glimpse of what it'll be like if you betray me like that ,my sister died five years ago, I can't have this clone acting like she is the Lauren I know, I feel bad for Austin for loving a deluded person like you ".

" Do you hate Ethan that much ?" My heart weakens.

" No .I despise him for turning you into what you are today , I only bared with him for your sake because I didn't want him to punish you for my actions so I held back . But remember one thing Lauren, you will regret ever loving someone like him one day ,and that day may not be too far from now ".

My sunglasses hide my tears ," Fine Caitlyn, if you can't wish me happiness then I guess you and I aren't exactly good to be around each other , if you block me then so will I , I don't need you in fact you have always needed me , have a good life , as your sister I would never force you to choose something I want I'd always let you make the decision for yourself because it's your own life ,you hating me won't change anything,I already gave Ethan my word and I won't go back on it" , with one final look I storm out of the storage and out her shop , silently crying.
