Specified Chapter: Chapter 4

Summary Thus Far in Book: In the book, Zoe, Zacharias, and Muriel are a select team of watchers, or angels who were sent to Earth to locate and kill the descendants of the Nephilim—the offspring of Fallen Angels and humans. These descendants, called scions, possess powers hidden within their blood that they can access only when they become completely evil. Each time a demon power is used it emits a pulse that can be felt by angels and demons, called a ripple effect. In the previous chapter, one scion released a power so great that it literally stopped all time on Earth. Zoe and her team rush to the epicenter of the ripple, in St. Louis, Missouri, through a portal.

Author's Note: First, I would like to thank #NBR, especially DawnStarling, Mokbook, and SwiftieGirl1010 for their dedication to this amazing community. Second, I would like to thank all the #NBR reviewers for their willingness to share their time and ideas to support other writers. This is what #NBR is all about! Here are my questions.

1. In this chapter, I wanted to keep the momentum going from the previous chapter when the ripple effect happened, but I also wanted to show more of how a watcher team works and some of the powers that angels possess. So how was the balance between action and background and description?

2. I am relying on action to drive the first part of this book; however, I am wanting to tease out more of the unique characterization of each of these three characters. Specifically, I wanted to show the characters "in their element." Given that we are still early in the book, what's your sense of the characters now? What should the reader know now about the characters and what can the reader learn later about the characters?
