ANNOUNCEMENTS:
We have a couple of changes to explain so please read the information below very carefully.
1: NEW SCORING SYSTEM
We would like to recognize the time you spend and offer rewards for your effort. We aim to make NBR as fair as possible for everyone, so beginning this round NBR has a new scoring system. This system will be used to help determine your spotlight round based on the QUALITY of your comment.
A summary of the guidelines are as follows:
Score of 0 = Non Quality comments less than SIX lines
Score of 1 = Short comments that reach the new minimum (6) line count
Score of 2 = Longer, quality comments that address author's questions and CT
Score of 3 = Runner up, special mention from author or excellent comment as seen by enforcers
Score of 4 = Round Winner
So all in all: The more you give the more you get back! Everyone will spotlight eventually but the speed in which you spotlight is now up to you!

2: AUTHOR QUESTIONS - Answer 2 out of 3
After much feedback and consideration, we've decided to revert back to, allowing spotlight authors to ask THREE questions. BUT you need only answer TWO from each author (any two of your choosing). You DO NOT need to answer all three questions, but if an author has only asked two then you have no choice ;-)

Commenting time frame (CST): Jan 6 to Jan 15
Comment Topic (CT): Characters in a novel never just talk. Good dialogue has a purpose and escalates toward something. If dialogue stays neutral and flat, it feels empty. Does the author's dialogue escalate toward a purpose? Be specific when supporting your answer.

Specified Chapter: Before the Game [Contestant Side 2]
Summary Thus Far in Book: A new virtual reality video game called "Brutal Realms" offers a chance to explore five randomly generated worlds. To further hype it up, the producers launch a reality show, inviting the general public to form teams of four, which will then compete their way through the game world. In this chapter one of the teams is introduced.
