The only kinds of guys at this party were the frat boys and dick-weasels, so there wasn't a guy of my type to be seen for miles.

As I watched Liz dirty dance with this guy, I was suddenly pushed into a the wall I stood next to; I swear if this was another frat boy trying to flirt with me I was going to rip off his dick. Angrily, I turned my head to see the asshole, but when I locked eyes with him my entire demeanor changed.

Tall, dark brown hair, bright blue eyes (a/n: OMFG, I know that Barry's eyes are green people. I've gotten like five different people correcting me and saying they're green; BOI I fucking know THANK YOU FOR YOUR IMPUT, but I'm not changing it), pale, just a bit muscular, and he was dressed like any reserved person would be. Nervously, he apologized, "Oh my god, I'm so sorry."

"No," I smiled, "It's fine."

My smile caused him to smile, and I swear that his smile could melt snow because it was radiant. "I'm Barry," He said happily.

"I'm Finn," I greeted, and then something came over me (two seconds of insane courage?) so I suggested, "Do you want to go to the backyard? It's a little noisy in here."

Barry and I sat on the concrete bench near the pool in the yard, we were casually talking with one another, and it felt like nothing else I had ever felt before.

"Wow," I said sarcastically, "I have a big bad police officer here to protect me."

Barry laughed, and explained, "Actually I'm a forensic scientist, but I've made a few arrests before."

I took a swig of my whiskey, and I smirked, "Funny and smart, could you get any better?"

Sarcastically, Barry laughed, "I like to think that I'm cute even though I'm not."

I looked at him like he was crazy, because that boy was beyond cute. "Who told you that you weren't cute?" I asked sympathetically.

Barry looked into my eyes, but before replying he was quiet for a while. "Well," He sighed slightly sad, "I guess I told myself that after all of my high school bullies did. I just sort of accepted it."

I don't know what in the world came over me (probably alcohol), but I placed my hand onto his and I gazed into Barry's eyes and said, "Well, I think you're absolutely adorable, so don't let yourself think you're not cute because you don't fit with society's definition of attractive like a puzzle piece. Trust me."

The funny thing was that I wasn't really that drunk, so I guess that I was just being stupidly courageous.

"You should be a motivational speaker," Barry laughed shyly.

I giggled, "I probably would have a more useful degree in that than I do now."

Curiously, with his head cocked, Barry asked, "What's your degree in?"

"I have a master's in physics and I minored in chemistry," I explained, "but my parents cut off my funds before I could even sign up for the next year's courses." Barry looked at me like he didn't know whether to laugh or feel sorry for me, but I cleared it up by laughing, "They wanted me to be a lawyer like everyone else in the family."

"Did you send in an application to Star Labs?" Barry asked grinning, "They take people with just master's degrees."

"I actually was planning on it," I explained surprised, "but then the particle accelerator kind of exploded and really strange things started to tie in with the explosion."

"You know, I actually have a few friends who work there, and I think that they might still be able to slide your application in," Barry smirked, "I think Dr. Wells and you would get along really nicely."

My jaw hung open in surprise, because almost all of my life I idolized Dr. Wells and everything he did; just the thought of being in his very presence made me nearly squeal like a fan-girl. "Barry Allen, you are a saint," I said shocked.

Barry cracked a shy smile that was probably the cutest thing I had ever seen, "I guess you could say that," he laughed.

God I wanted to kiss him so badly right then and there, but that would have been so weird. Barry's just so freaking adorable, but I can't tell if he's in to me or if he's just trying to be my friend or if he's just drunk—he doesn't seem drunk, or maybe I'm just super drunk?

Breaking me from my deep thought was Barry's watch beeping, so he looked down at it to see why it was doing that. "Happy New Year," Barry smiled. This was my only chance to kiss a hot guy at this party and I was not going to let it go.

I cupped the side of Barry's face and placed my lips onto his, and it felt like a thousand different explosions going off inside of my body. Awkwardly, I pulled my lips away from his, and opened my eyes.

Surprisingly, Barry wasn't freaked out, and he was actually smiling; that was a huge weight off my shoulders. Then, even more surprisingly, he placed his hands on the side of my face, and returned my kiss.

Barry had his arm wrapped around my waist as we waited outside the house for a taxi, and the party still raged on inside. We sat on the curb casually sipping at our beers cuddling; my head rested on Barry's shoulder, and our hands were intertwined.

Barry nuzzled at my neck lovingly, because neither of us could wait to get back to my place so the real fun could start.

The bright yellow car cruised down the street, so we stood up from the cold concrete ground. Once the taxi stopped in front of us, I heard Liz yell, "Hey Finn!" so I turned around to see what drunken antics she was up to this time, and hanging off her side was a stereotypical frat-boy grabbing her in all the placed you shouldn't. She looked at me excitedly and pointed to the guy for my approval, but the only thing I wanted to do was go home so a put up a fake smile and a thumbs up.

I entered the right side of the taxi with Barry sitting on the left, and we headed off. The driver didn't talk to us, probably since we were two drunk twenty-something's, or he didn't want to put up with us any more than he had to.

"Who was that?" Barry laughed quietly.

Slightly embarrassed, I sighed, "That was Liz."

"She seems like a riot," He smiled.

Finally, I shut the door to my apartment, and the second the door locked Barry pressed his chest against mine; his lips pressed against mine passionately, and I wrapped my arms around his neck.

This would be one hell of a night.
