I lounged on the couch at my house while Linda was staying here to be safe from Doctor Light and Zoom. The fireplace brought warmth to the cold house, and the scent of all the food Linda was "stress-cooking" made me extremely hungry.
My legs were stretched out on the sectional sofa, and I was doing a bit of research on my tablet.
The front door opened, causing me to look over by the large staircase, and Barry walked into the house, locking the door behind him. "Hey," I greeted him.
"Hey." Barry entered the living room, glancing at the dining room table filled with food. "It's not Hanukkah yet, is it?" he asked, confused.
I laughed, setting my tablet down, "No, not for another two weeks, but we're definitely inviting Linda over to make food."
Linda sat down another dish on the table. "I know, I know," she sighed, "It's just, sometimes cooking helps me to relax." Taking off her oven mitts, Linda sat down in the arm chair perpendicular to the couch Barry had joined me on. "Have you heard anything about Doctor Light? Am I still in danger?" Linda asked nervously.
"We're not really sure," Barry sighed.
Linda cried, "Come on. I'm going crazy here, Barry."
I nodded in agreement. "Yeah, she is."
The oven timer beeped loudly, interrupting our conversation. Linda sighed, "That is the cake. Hope you're hungry." She left to go tend to the cake in the kitchen.
"She's not kidding," I smirked, "There's enough food in there to feed an army."
Barry groaned, "She must be terrified."
I explained, skootching closer to him, "Um, ore like furious. Her boss died trying to protect her, and it only makes it worse that the person who did it looks just like her. I mean, trust me. If Linda had Doctor Light's powers right now . . ." I saw Barry suddenly think of idea. "What? Did you just think of something?"
"I just, uh, Lind and Light . . .," Barry explained quietly, "they're identical. So identical that Light even thought she could fool Zoom. Now we have Light's suit . . . You don't even have to say it, it's a terrible idea."
I stated, "No, it's actually not. We can make Zoom think that Linda is Doctor Light and use her to draw him out."
Barry tried to shoot down his idea. "It's too dangerous, right?"
"I'll make it happen if Linda decides she's game," I smiled. "She's desperate to catch the person who's responsible for Larkin's death, and she deserves the chance to help us."
Barry smiled. "Alright," he stated, "I'll meet you at Star-Labs."
________
The doors of the elevator opened with Linda and I inside. "I still don't understand why we're here," she stated. "I thought Detective West said not to leave the house."
I smirked. "Someone wants to talk to you."
"Who?" Linda asked.
Barry came barreling down the hallway in her Flash suit, and spoke to Linda while masking his voice, "Ms. Park, I need your help."
"Whoa." Linda grinned in awe.
________
I watched from a safe distance away as Barry trained with Linda so she could pretend to be Doctor Light, and it wasn't looking very promising. Linda was supposed to only hit the cardboard cutouts of Barry, but she ended up hitting every single one except Barry's.
The gloves Cisco made for her kept malfunctioning and setting on fire too.
Although, Linda eventually came into the rhythm of things and stopped hitting my cardboard cutout.
Still, it wasn't a good idea.
The team came back into the Cortex, and I sighed, "There's no way she can do this."
"Well, maybe if she didn't scream every time she fired," Harry smirked.
Barry, being the optimist, said, "Yep, Linda had a rocky start, but she can pull this off. I know she can." He asked Cisco, "Did you find a place near a breach where we don't have to worry about civilians getting in the way?"
Cisco responded, "Yeah, there's the place by the docks that's usually deserted at night."
"Awesome," Barry smiled. He asked Caitlin, "How are we doing with the speed-dampener?"
Caitlin explained, glancing at her computer screen, "My tests indicate that it should work."
Harry stated, "It will work. I'll tune up Ramon's gloves so they work better." He brashly exited the Cortex.
Barry nodded his head. "Alright, great."
He threw on his coat, and was about to head off back to CCPD when I called out, "Hey? Are we actually going to go through with this?"
"Yeah," Barry replied, "we're doing this. I'm going to have Iris get Linda ready."
My jaw hung in shock. He couldn't possibly think that this was a good idea? I mean, Barry can be a little out there sometimes, but this is just a whole new level of stupid.
Joe noticed my anger mixed in with shock. "I'll go yell at him," he stated as he chased after Barry.
