I lay on my stomach, my back burning with pain as warm blood oozed out of numerous wounds. My body was cold . . . so, so cold.

My cheek was pressed against the concrete, and my eyes were filled with black spots.

Lying in the grass a few feet away from me was the figure of a man. Blood covered his white, button-down shirt and black suit jacket. His chest was still.

I wanted to reach out to him, but my arms felt like they were made out of icy lead.

The world around me was cold, so very cold.

________

My body jumped back into reality, and I awoke from my brief nap at my desk. My head lay in my crossed arms, heavy with fatigue. I haven't been sleeping well lately, and when I do, I get these horrible dreams.

"Finn," a voice called out, slightly annoyed.

It took a few seconds to register that the voice yelling at me was Barry's.

I lifted my head up, slowly opening my eyes. The bright lights of my office burned my eyes, and as I adjusted to the bright atmosphere, I hoarsely asked, "Yeah?"

Barry moved closer to the desk, and asked me, unsure, "Are you feeling alright?"

"Yeah, yeah," I yawned, "I'm fine. I just haven't slept well the past few days."

"Do you still want to go to the movie in the park with everyone?" Barry asked, handing me my black, denim jacket that said TOKYO on the back of it. "I can drop you off at home if you want."

"No, I'm fine," I replied tiredly, as I put on my jacket. "Could we stop at Jitters before we go to the park? I really need some caffeine."

________

Barry and I walked along the street with our coffee from Jitters. My arm was curled around his, and my body clung to his side.

I missed this.

I missed the feeling of feeling so safe around him, knowing that he would do absolutely anything to protect me.

"I can't believe that you actually asked Julian to go on a date with us," I chuckled, taking a sip of my Zoom drink.

"I didn't ask him on a date!" Barry laughed, protesting the fact that he was definitely flirting with Julian.

I smirked, "I don't blame you, Barry, I asked him on dates too. I just never got rejected like you did."

"Wait, so he really doesn't have a girlfriend?" Barry asked, still sort of confused.

"No," I explained, chuckling to myself, as we crossed the street, getting closer to the park where the movie was, "I don't know why he lied to you."

Barry questioned, "Then who does he have like six pictures of on his desk?"

I replied, "Probably his sister; you know, the one who died?"

"That makes sense," Barry answered as we walked into Hofherr park.

Suddenly, a flashback to my dream from earlier flashed through my head. A hand lay out stretched in front of me, blood was dripping down the fingers and palm onto the cold concrete below.
