One word to describe last night? Holy-shit.

Barry wasn’t my first—he was actually my third—but he was absolutely incredible. He must have some superpower to make me orgasm over and over again . . . too much information, I know.

I did not wake up naturally, which I would have liked to, but what woke me up was the buzzing of my cell phone on the nightstand next to my bed. My head lie on Barry’s chest, and all was peaceful expect for all of the infernal racket coming from my phone.

Annoyed, I sat up very groggy, but careful not to wake Barry. The morning light peeked through the blinds, but couldn’t have been very late. I picked up my phone from the nightstand, and stared at the screen; nine texts from Liz yelling at me for letting her sleep with some frat-boy.

Why would you let this happen to me?

Kill me now

I probably have chlamydia and will die now

You are just terrible for letting this happen

She added a picture of the sleeping guy, and he did not look good what so ever. I glanced over at Barry, still asleep.

I replied: Sucks for you

Almost immediately, Liz replied: Just look over at the guy you are with; you had drunk-vision last night, and he can’t be any better than Mike

In a very sneaky way, I took a quick picture of Barry, and he looked like a sleeping angel. Then, I sent it to Liz.

She replied: Holy shit he is beautiful

I replied: Get fucked; oh wait, you did.

I rested my head on Barry’s chest again, and I was just about to fall back asleep when his hand ran along my rib-cage. My eyes reopened, and Barry was beaming down at me, and he greeted, “Good morning.”

In a very groggy and sleepy voice I replied, “Good morning, babe.” He kissed my forehead, and that caused me to smile.

We were quiet for a while until both of us were more awake, and Barry asked quietly, “Hey, do you want to go out for coffee?”

I smiled, “Yeah, but I need to get ready first.”

I slipped on my black pea-coat and Barry was tying his shoes. Being honest, I stated bluntly, “When I woke up this morning I thought you would have left, but you didn’t.”

“Well,” Barry explained, “I always figured that if you sleep with someone you have to do one more nice thing for them, so I’m taking you out for coffee.”

We walked out of my apartment, and I smiled, “That’s really sweet.”

Just a few blocks down from my building was a quaint little coffee shop called Jitters, but I somehow managed to never hear of it until Barry told me about it. We sat in the brown hued café near the window on the first floor, and I was quietly sipping on my caramel macchiato.

“So you’re serious about slipping in my application at Star-Labs?” I asked in disbelief.

Barry smiled adorably, and replied, “I’m serious, and if you want we might be able to swing by there if my friends are working.”

I probably looked like a total moron with my jaw hanging open like that, but I just couldn’t believe that Barry was going to do something that HUGE for me—my dream was finally coming true! All my life I had wanted to be a scientist, and now some guy I had met just last night was helping it all come true.

Barry was staring down at his phone texting, who I presumed was one of his friends at Star-Labs, and once he hit send he looked up at me a chuckled at my mouth hanging open. “Did you fall from Heaven, because you’re an angel,” I laughed.

“You’ve told me that nearly ten times,” Barry laughed, and he placed his hand into mine from across the table.

“So when are you going to start believing it?” I asked with a raised eyebrow.

Barry smirked deviously, but that only made him hotter. “When you go on a second date with me,” Barry said smoothly.

That caused me to smile and blush just slightly, and I said in happy-shock, “You know just the right way to make any girl swoon for you, don’t you?”

“I’m taking that as a ‘yes’,” Barry laughed, “How about dinner tomorrow evening?”

I asked curiously, “Any ideas where?”

Barry shrugged and shyly said, “We can figure that out later.” His phone buzzed loudly on the wooden table, which broke our moment, and he read the text aloud, “Caitlin said ‘I Just arrived at work, but I don’t think Dr. Wells is here yet. Bring her over; I’d love to meet her!”

We exited the coffee shop with our hands intertwined, and Barry was telling me all about his experiences at Star-Labs—neither of us obviously was paying attention to anything else. The police sirens screaming down the street didn’t faze us at all.

I had been gazing up at Barry was we spoke, and he had been glancing at me as he walked down the street. A roaring sound of a car’s engine drew my eyes away from Barry, and not even fifteen feet away from us was a speeding red car followed by a brigade of cop cars.

The red getaway car wasn’t slowing down, and the entire world felt like it was going in slow motion. A wave of panic spread over my body, and Barry wrapped his arms around me in an attempt to protect me against a two ton car that was speeding towards us at sixty miles per hour.

The driver honked his horn at us, but as he neared the ten feet range I could feel all of the breath being sucked out of my lungs and a wave of lightheadedness sweep over me. Then, as dark spots filled my vision, I could barely make out the sight of the getaway car flying over Barry and me, spinning like a football, and crashing with a loud bang onto the street.

All at once, the dark spots took over my vision, and I felt myself losing all control of my body as I slipped into a dark void of nothing.
