"Faster, Barry!" Joe yelled through the microphone as Barry walked/ran on the cosmic treadmill. "There you go!"

I encouraged, "Come on, push yourself!"

As he ran up to ten miles per hour, Barry had a pained look on his face, and then suddenly fell down. Joe and I ran into the treadmill room, and he asked worriedly, "Are you okay, Bar?"

Barry groaned as he stood back up, and replied, "Oh, yeah, you know, I'm not great right now." Then, he went right back onto the treadmill, holding his back in pain.

"What happened?" I questioned, concerned.

He lied, sitting down, "It's nothing. I'm good, alright? Just forget it."

I glared at him. "Talk to us," I said, "We're here to help you."

"No," he snapped, "you can't help me. Not this time. I'm sorry." Barry slowly stood back up. "You just . . . You wouldn't understand."

I yelled, upset, "I wouldn't understand? Me, of all people, wouldn't understand." Joe looked at both of us awkwardly, and I asked, trying to be calm, "Can you give us just a second?" He left the treadmill room, and Barry sat down.

Taking a deep breath, I sat down on the step below Barry, and bluntly asked, "Why are you being an ass?"

He stared at the ground. "Zoom destroyed me," Barry explained, "He showed everyone in Central City what he could do, and that I'm powerless to stop him. They gave me a key to this city, Finn. I'm supposed to be their hero. I'm supposed to be the guy that can protect them from something as evil as that, and I failed in front of all of them."

Barry went quiet, and groaned as he stood up to get his cane. "When they think of the Flash, all they see now is someone not strong enough to protect them."

"Hey," I whispered.

Barry shook his head, and lied, "I'm fine."

I ate one of my Milky Ways in the Cortex when Cisco rushed in, and he asked, "Did Caitlin come through here?"

"No, why?" I asked.

He explained, upset, "She just hit in the face and ran away."

"Yo!" Joe screamed, sprinting in after Cisco, "Grodd!"

I asked confused, "What?"

"Grodd's back," Joe said urgently.

"Caitlin," Cisco explained quickly, "That must be why she was acting like that. She was being mind-controlled." Cisco pulled up the security cameras to search for Caitlin.

At the west exit, Caitlin walked out of the door, and lurking just behind the building was the most massive gorilla I had ever seen in my entire life. "Holy shit," I murmured, "That's a big gorilla."

________

Harry watched over all of our security cameras and their footage, because I had actually convinced him to stay. "I'm continually amazed by the similarity between our two worlds," he stated.

"You have talking gorillas on your Earth, too?" Joe questioned.

Harry chuckled, "Oh yeah."

Joe smirked, "Remind me never to go there."

"Cisco," I asked glancing at the footage, "why would this Grodd-thing take Caitlin?"
