Barry lay on the table with metal spikes sticking out of his body, and to remove them Caitlin was ripping each of them out—I suggested just letting me take them all out at once, but it was "too dangerous". "You need to hurry," Harrison urged, "Barry's wounds are starting to heal with the fragments still under his skin."
I started going to work on the spines in his abdomen, and then placed them in the bowl Cisco was holding. "This is just like the time I stepped on a sea urchin," Barry glared at his comment, "Only much worse."
Barry grunted, "Just don't pee on me."
"Uh, you know that's a myth, right?" Cisco asked with a raised eyebrow.
Barry yelped in pain as I pulled the spines out from his thigh, and I asked Caitlin fed up, "Can I just pull them out? Obviously he's going to heal before we get all of them out."
"No!" She snapped, and I went back to ripping them out, "I'm so stupid. Jason Rush, the grad student who was helping Professor Stein with his Firestorm research, he said the army took all of Professor Stein's material when he disappeared. I should have known it was General Eiling."
"Not your fault," Harrison sighed, "He still thinks you hold the keys to the ultimate human weapon . . . both of you."
Ronnie explained nervously, "When Stein had me surrounded; he talked about Firestorm, the Flash, and," He paused and looked at me, "A girl who can move things with her mind—he wants all of us."
Professor Stein had showed up to Star-Labs claiming to not be fully separated from Ronnie, and he was right. "It seems I'm still inside Ronald," Stein stated looking at the brain wave monitor.
I cringed.
"There has to be a better way to phrase that," Cisco stated awkwardly. Barry smirked, and he rubbed his hand on my shoulder to try and make me less tense about the government wanting us.
My head was buried in Barry's neck, and I was tired beyond belief since I hadn't been home all day. I had a terrible migraine, and when anybody talked my head throbbed.
"I just want to go home and pretend the government doesn't want to kidnap me," I whispered into Barry's neck, and he kissed my forehead.
Caitlin explained to Ronnie and Stein, "Beta, alpha, theta, delta . . . all your brain waves are perfectly in sync. The chances of that happening are next to impossible."
Barry huffed, "Impossible is just another Tuesday for us, remember?"
"Yeah," Cisco replied, "but this is like some Twilight Zone level stuff, and I say that knowing full well that we have a guy locked up in our basement who can turn himself into poison gas."
I looked at him excitedly and stated, "Bro, I need to see this."
"Wait, really?" Barry asked confused.
"Dude," Cisco laughed, "That was like week three."
Professor Stein took of the monitor hastily, and while he did so he huffed, "Look, if this Eiling is as dangerous as you say, then I need to warn Clarissa."
Barry explained, "I promise, I can get Clarissa out of the city in time, but we need you to stay here."
Martin was visibly upset, and I said quietly, "Professor, I need you to trust us."
"Very well," He sighed, and then quietly left the room.
After finally getting a nights rest, I drove over to Barry's house to maybe finish our date that was rudely interrupted, but when I pulled up to the house I saw a grand total of three cars in the driveway—what on Earth was going on?
