He smiled, and then pressed his lips against my forehead. "Joe gave me some really great advice after our failure about chasing after what makes you happy, and you're the thing that makes me the happiest."
I rested my head on his shoulder, smiled, and stated, "You make me feel the safest right here, in your arms."
________
Cisco reattached the new emblem to Barry's suit, and glared at Barry. "There you go," he hissed. "Do you think these things just grow on trees or something?"
Barry shrugged, "And we threw away the last one for nothing." Cisco glared at Barry menacingly.
Wells sat at Caitlin's computer watching the footage from tonight's failure over and over again. Caitlin stood behind him, and she stated, rather fed up, "You have been going over this footage dozens of times. Everything went exactly according to plan."
"If it had, Zoom would have shown up," Harry replied, frustrated.
Barry suggested, "Maybe Light was wrong? Maybe he can't slip through the breaches? Maybe he finally decided to give up?"
"Doubtfully," I stated.
Barry's phone started buzzing, so he answered it, "Hey. Woah, Iris slow down, I can't understand you. Zoom has Linda!"
Then, all at once, every alarm started going off on the computer, and I quickly scurried over to it to see what was wrong. I rushed to the computer to see what was wrong, and apparently we had a security breach.
"Shit, shit, shit," I mumbled as I pulled up the camera systems, and on the roof was a massive, black, demon-like thing holding Linda hostage. "He's got her on the roof!"
Barry ran out to the roof in a ball of lightning, and now Barry and Zoom were having a face-off in the parking lot.
"Zoom cannot be human," Caitlin stated.
Harry explained, "He is, or was."
"How the hell is Barry supposed to beat that?" Cisco asked nervously.
I shook my head as I examined Zoom. "He can't," I stated.
Then, Barry ran in the opposite direction of Zoom, and Harry bluntly asked, "Why is Barry running away?"
"He's not scared," I explained, and then excitedly grabbed Cisco's arm, exclaiming, "He's going to thunderbolt him!"
Harry was confused. "What?"
Caitlin explained, "Jay taught him how to throw lightning."
Barry threw the bolt of lightning at Zoom has hard as he could, but still, Zoom was able to catch it in mid-air and throw it right back at Barry.
I sprinted into the lab, grabbing the gun and serum Harry and I made, and I stated loudly, "He's not doing this alone."
Harry grabbed the gun from my hands, and rudely said, "You're not firing the gun, you'll miss."
I scowled at him, "I have telepathic abilities, so I'll make sure the serum gets to Zoom." Harry and I sprinted out of the building and into the parking lot, but Barry and Zoom had just started fighting on the roof again.
Then, appearing from the sky, Barry and Zoom fell to the ground, and Zoom was pinning Barry to the pavement. Zoom lifted Barry up, and began beating him senseless.
Smacking Harry's arm, I yelled, "Hurry up! Zoom's kicking his ass." Harry had his aim lined up, and I concentrated on making it hit directly into Zoom's spine, but as Barry yelped out in pain from Zoom crushing the vertebra in his back, I lost focus.
"Now Harry!" I yelled.
Zoom moved with such speed that he caught the serum in his hand. "Never forget," Zoom taunted us is the most bone-chilling voice, "I am the fastest man alive."
Taking the serum that he had caught, Zoom plunged the needle deep into Barry's chest, and he yelled out in agony again.
I yanked the gun out from Harry's hands, and using the little muscles I had and then some telekinesis, I chucked the gun at Zoom as hard as I could. He didn't even look over his shoulder when he grabbed the gun from the air, and then Zoom scowled at me, "You're next."
He threw the gun onto the ground back at us, and then ran away with Barry in hand.
Harry was in shock. "That was the dumbest thing a genius has ever done," he stated, picking up his gun.
Both of us ran inside, and sprinted into the Cortex. I franticly asked, "Anything? Caitlin? Cisco?" I looked at Barry's tracking dot, and he was on his way back to Star-Labs. "Fuck, they're coming back here!" I yelled.
Then, Zoom appeared in the Cortex in front of all of us holding Barry's limp body. He delivered a haunting message, "Harrison Wells, you thought you could defeat me with this?" Zoom ripped off Barry's mask in humiliation.
"I made a mistake," Harry stated.
Zoom laughed, "Yes, a costly one." Zoom lifted Barry up to his face level, and then violently stabbed one of his claws into his abdomen. "Goodbye Flash," Zoom cackled, "You too weren't fast enough."
Zoom dropped Barry to the ground as he yelled out in agony from the dart in his neck. He fell to the floor for only a second, but then disappeared within blue lightning.
Cisco just saved Barry's life.
"Barry!" I screamed, running to help him. Blood was pouring out of his stab wound, so I applied extreme pressure to the area, soaking my hands in blood, just like he did for me.
My heart pounded in my chest. "Bar, you're going to be okay, I promise," I whimpered. "Come on Barry," I cried, "please. I didn't leave you, you can't leave me."
________
It was a few days after the incident, and Barry was comatose so he could heal. I had given everyone the days off so they could rest and relax, but I didn't leave Barry's side unless to go pee.
I ran my fingers through his hair, and brought the flowers he had bought me down to his room so it would look just a little bit happier.
He looked like crap to say the least.
Barry's head moved slightly. "Bar?" I whispered. He moved again, and then squinted his eyes. "Good morning," I smiled.
He weakly smiled, "Good morning. How long has it been?"
I rubbed his shoulder with my thumb, and I said, "Three days."
"Where is everybody?" he asked softly.
"I gave them the rest of the week off to relax," I explained. "You scared the hell out of me."
Barry weakly asked, "How bad is it?"
I sighed, crouching down to Barry's face level, "Remember when I got shot?" he nodded his head, "Like if you didn't get me to the hospital within five minutes I would have bled out, and if you didn't heal so quickly you wouldn't have made it either."
"Is Linda okay?" he asked.
I explained, "She's fine. She's staying with some friends in Coast City." I gently stroked his knee, and Barry immediately tried sitting up. "Oh hell no," I insisted, pushing him back down, "Not for a while."
"No, Finn," Barry whispered with panic in his voice, "I can't feel my legs."
