It's the only way I can save us.
I love him, and I can't lose him again.
The V-10 broke us apart, but maybe it can bring us back together.
H.R. had brought in doughnuts, bagels, and coffee for the team this morning in an attempt to win our hearts over despite the fact that he's done absolutely nothing for our team.
He had forced everybody into the Cortex to present us with food, except Caitlin; she was gone. Supposedly she was feeling very sick because of her "lady problem".
I sat at my computer, too exhausted to stand with Barry and Iris, working on case reports for the CCPD. "Sumptuous day!" HR shouted, pulling the slate-grey towels off of the plates stacked high with food. "Oh," he corrected himself, ""no on this Earth, I believe you say . . ."
Cisco chuckled from across the room, already eating a doughnut, "Good morning."
"Good morning!" HR shouted again, causing my head to pound. "And it is, is it?" he asked, dancing along to the shitty music he had picked out and tapped his drumsticks on my desk.
My light brown eyes glared up at him, growing annoyed. HR quickly retreated his drum sticks, and stated, "The music on your Earth strikes a chord, no pun intended." Dropping the drumsticks, he gestured to the food, "Please, help yourselves. I find that a crew works best when it's well fed and well rested."
"Are those coffees for us too?" Iris asked, jolly as she could be in the morning.
"Yes indeed, Ms. West," HR replied in a strange voice that dragged out every letter, and he laughed as he rolled out the coffee trolley. "I took the liberty of reading some of your ledgers last night; a lot of information to absorb."
My ears perked up. "How did you access those documents? Cisco and I are the only people that know the passwords." I snapped, becoming irritated.
HR spun around, and he chuckled, explaining, "Same passwords on my Earth."
I rolled my eyes, and mumbled to Cisco, "Remind me to change that."
"Let's see how I did?" HR handed Iris her coffee, "Skim milk chai latte. An iced americano with two, no three shots of espresso for Walter."
Wally chuckled, "It's Wally."
"Wally! Now, my flea-a-foot friend," HR joked, handing Barry his drink, "you best stick to decaf." Barry laughed uncomfortably. He looked to Cisco and shouted in an awful accent, "San Francisco, I've prepared a French roast with a touch of creamer." HR spun violently, facing me, "and for Finnegan Flipper Carter, straight, black coffee as black as your soul."
The room fell quiet, and I slow-blinked to try to calm myself, so I didn't stab this man. Breaking the uncomfortable silence, HR roared with laughter, and everybody awkwardly laughed with him.
I clenched my fist once before taking the boiling hot coffee from his hand. "Did you know that on my Earth, the coffee crop was wiped out by blight!" he explained, chuckling, "and that was one more reason to stay on this Earth, for the coffee alone."
"That's if you stay," I snapped from behind HR, trying to communicate my dislike for him.
HR corrected himself, "If I stay! Time is of the essence; I propose a series of team building exercises." Oh my fucking god, kill me now. "Now, I've hidden a series of clues all around the facility. What I propose is that we break into two groups, you can pick a partner—"
Cisco stared at me from across the room, and he saw that I was about to snap. "Okay, we have to stop here, HR. I am not feeling this," Cisco explained, putting it into nicer terms than I would have.
"It's the roasts, isn't it? I should have gone with the dark—" he went off on a tangent.
"No, it's not the roast, the roast is fine," he huffed. HR opened his blackhole of a mouth to say something stupid again, so I cut him off as I rose from the desk.
I hissed, "Our trust is not something you can build with games." I began circling around him, and I heard Barry mumbled something to the effects of 'oh no'.
"No, no," HR tried to make the conversation less serious.
"Our trust is something that goes back three years! It's something that's been forged in fire and blood," I sneered, now standing directly in front of him. I sized him up, standing too close for comfort to intimidate him. "So maybe you should back off and earn it like we all did before you invited yourself here."
He didn't seem to understand how frustrated I was. "Got it, I'll run with that," he replied nonchalantly.
I stood as tall as I could, my fists clenched tightly. Shit was about to hit the fan, so Barry intervened, saving me from more drama.
Barry grasped my waist, and pulled me away from HR. "Okay Cersei Lannister, it's time to back off for now," he whispered to me.

HI, I AM ALIVE !
I hope everyone had a spooky Halloween, because I almost froze to death in 40 degrees F weather in just leggings and a sweater to pass out candy. My puppy dressed up for Halloween too (and by dress up, I mean he wore a doggy sweater).
College has made me really busy lately and so has work and so has a possible Game of Thrones fanfic I'm working on, so that's why I havent uploaded in forever. BUT, November is the National Month of Writing (I think, don't quote me on that), so I really want to write more this month.
Also, season 4 of the Flash began recently, and I've been getting a lot of new inspiration for this story. I miss Julian, but it's been pretty good so far. I wish it was dark like the previous season because I'm a spooky bitch, but I'm living for the comedy. ALSO I AM HERE FOR CLIFFORD DEVOE AKA THE THINKER. The guy who plays him played Titus in The 100 (I fucking love that show oml) and he is so creepy as DeVoe.
Anyways, I'll see you next week with a new chapter (?). Let me know if any of you guys would be interested in a GOT modern AU fanfic (it will be graphic, you have been warned).
