Cisco, Harry, and I sat at our respective desks in the Cortex guiding Barry through the city on his daily crime watch; it was early in the morning, and Harry was especially grumpy.

Barry's dot on the screen skidded to a stop in an alleyway, and over the speakers, he asked, "What you got for me, Cisco?"

Cisco rubbed his temples. "You've been playing Good Samaritan all morning. Take a break," Cisco groaned.

I pressed the intercom button, and asked, "Are you sure you don't want to get to CCPD, you know, the place that actually pays you?"

"No, I'll be there later," Barry replied.

Harry stated, bitterly, "Because we cannot afford to waste any more time."

"What?" Cisco replied sarcastically, "because we've just been sipping Mai Tais since you got here?"

Harry snapped his head towards Cisco, and hissed, "I don't know what you've been sipping since I got here, but Barry needs to get better, stronger, faster. We need to train to prepare for Zoom."

"Oh, I see," Cisco stated, sarcastic as usual, "You haven't had your coffee this morning." Cisco brought his Star-Labs mug to his lips, giving Harry a raised eyebrow.

Harry snapped, "I had my coffee this morning. Don't slurp." Cisco disobeyed him immediately. "Don't. Don't. Don't." He became increasingly more heated with each repeat.

I butted in, glaring at both of them, "Boys! You need to tone it down five notches."

They both stopped irritating each other.

Then, the computers started beeping, and Cisco explained into the intercom, "Runaway chemical transport truck heading south on Kester."

"On it," Barry replied. I watched Barry's tracking-dot race down the streets on Central City to the blip of the truck hurdling down the street. He was inside the truck when Barry franticly explained to us, "Hey, I can't stop the truck! Somebody rigged it!"

I explained to him, "You can't let that truck crash. If you do, you'll take out a whole city block."

"Great. Thank you," Barry replied sarcastically, "Thank you for that."

Cisco scanned the map with his eyes, and whispered, "Oh, and the plot thickens." He told Barry, "Dead-end up ahead. You've got to get out of there!"

Barry surrounded the truck, and then a second later, the massive truck skidded to a stop mere inches away from the building in front of it.

"That one was a little close," Barry stated. Cisco left the Cortex to refill his cup of coffee.

I slipped my black, Kenyon sweatshirt on over my long-sleeved shirt since it was horribly cold in the lab today. "Nice, now can you please, please take a break? I asked only mildly sassy since I did care about my fiancé's wellbeing. Harry glared at me. "Look, we're going to catch Zoom," I said, frustrated at his attitude today, "We still have Turtle locked up in the pipeline, and we can figure out a way to use him to zap Zoom's speed and save Jesse."

Jay and Caitlin entered into the Cortex, with Cisco following behind. Jay stated, "That might take longer than we thought."

"Why's that?" Harry asked.

"Because Turtle's dead," Caitlin explained, shocked.

Cisco dropped to his knees in a dramatic fashion, and stated yelling towards the sky, "Noooooo!"

A shiver ran down my spine. Who or what could have killed Turtle? All of us have been here all day and night. I leaned towards the intercom, and calmly explained, "Bar, we need you back here stat."

"Alright, I'm on my way," Barry replied.

________

Harry and I worked silently in my lab. I was trying to improve the speed cannons and figure out a way to close fifty-two breaches, and Harry was doing God knows what.

He's been so grumpy lately.

"It won't work," Cisco announced, walking into the lab. "Closing the breaches, that's like solving Einstein's riddle."

"I solved Einstein's riddle when I was ten," Harry boasted, taking his flash-drive out of the computer.

I smirked at Harry, "The German has the fish."

"What?" he replied, confused.

"Yeah, well, maybe Earth-2 Einstein wasn't as clever as ours," Cisco grumbled.

Harry argued with Cisco, "You realize this Earth is my Earth-2, right?" Not again.

Cisco was about to reply with some comment that would piss Harry off even further, and then they would start fighting and I wouldn't be able to think and so on.

I pulled out a Milky Way bar, and opened it. "Don't you dare, Francisco Ramon," I growled.

He raised his hands in the air as a sign of giving up, and he sighed, explained to both of us, "Listen to this, what if we can figure out how to control my powers? We could find Zoom, get the jump on him."

"That's a good idea," Harry harshly replied, "You should get on that." He went back to his computer.

"I need your help, Harry," Cisco explained further.

Harry turned around again, and hissed, "What you need, Ramon, is to figure out what triggers your vibes."

I went back to my workstation, rubbing my temples in frustration. This has to be what my mom felt while raising five, argumentative kids all in the same house.

"Exactly, and I don't know what triggers them," Cisco argued, "It's completely inconsistent. Sometimes it's when I touch something that belongs to a breacher, sometimes it just happens."

I turned around in my spinny-chair, and explained before Harry could snap at him, "There's always a cause. Cause and effect."

"It doesn't take Einstein to figure that out," Harry mumbled. I was getting angry.

Cisco asked, frustrated, "Okay, so what is the cause? You guys saw when I tried to vibe Dr. Light, when I tried to vibe you, it took a while to work."

Harry was quiet—this was a first. "Yes, yes it does," he whispered, and then instructed Cisco, "Meet me in the Time Vault."

He swiftly marched out of my lab. "For what?" Cisco called out, confused. Harry just signaled for him to follow him.

________

In the evening, Barry was called out for a break-in at Mercury Labs, but Cisco and Caitlin refused to tell me what had happened there—Barry was little to no help either.

"Why can't you just tell me, Cisco?" I begged from the break room, refilling my thermos with tea.

He sighed, leaning against the counter, looking upset, "I can't. I wish that I could, but Barry made us promise not to tell you."

"Why would he not want me to know?" I asked confused, trying to figure out Barry's motive. Cisco was quiet. I glared, "Cisco, don't make have to pull the boss-card on you."

Barry leaned against the doorway, staring at both of us.

"Perfect," Cisco smirked, "I'll be in the Cortex," he exited the breakroom, and smacked Barry's back, "Have fun!"

My arms were folded across my chest as I watched Barry sit down in the grey chair next to the matching table, and he could tell that I was pissed off.

I raised my eyebrow at him. Barry crumbled, sighed, "It would be better off if you didn't know, Finn. I don't want you to get hurt anymore."

I was confused. I've never really been attacked by a meta or criminal, nobody is my enemy, so why did Barry seem to think that I was in danger?

"Who's going to hurt me?" I ranted, and Barry was still silent. "It's not like Eobard Thawne is back from the dead." He shifted uncomfortably. "What?"

Barry huffed, "Come sit down." He gestured to the chair opposite him, and I brought my tea over to the table. I listened contently to him. "The Reverse Flash, Eobard Thawne . . . he's back."

All the color drained from my face. Chill ran down my body.

"What?" I asked in a whisper.

He explained, "It's a timeline remnant of him, and he's not like the Thawne that we knew."

My heart pounded in my chest. "Wha . . . what do you mean?"

"He's not all that sane," Barry explained.

I stared at my engagement ring. "It's before he befriended you. When he still hated you." Resting my head in my hands, I went silent. "Damn it," I mumbled angrily, "damn it, damn it, damn it!"

Barry held my hand caringly, and cooed, "Everything's going to okay, I promise."

"Just when I was finally happy again, he comes back," I grumbled angrily. I instructed Barry, "I want him out of this time. I want him gone before he can ruin us again."
