Secrets (Draco x reader)

~time skip to second task~

Ginny and I were on our way to the lake. The second task of the Triwizard Tournament was going to take place there, so we would be there for quite some time.

I heard Draco walking just a little behind us with his friends. I turned my head a little and saw him staring at me while walking. It seemed like he had been doing that the whole time and I couldn't help but smile at him. He gave me a wink and I turned my head back to the front.

"I really don't know how I didn't see it before" Ginny said and I gave her a confused look. "Didn't see what?" She rolled her eyes at me. "You and mr. James Bond" I snorted when she called Draco that.

"What?" I asked in between laughs. "C'mon y/n, the way he always introduces himself..." She made a weird face and mimicked his voice "I'm Malfoy" she whipped her hair back dramatically with her hand "Draco Malfoy."

We laughed with the new nickname for Draco and went to the stands in the middle of the lake.

I saw Harry standing with the other champions. It seemed like he was looking for something... or someone. "Ginny, have you seen Ron and Hermione?" I asked. "Not today no. Actually now that I think about it, I haven't seen them since they left for the library with Harry yesterday."

"That's weird... They wouldn't miss the task, they would wanna be there for Harry." The canon shot went off and all champions jumped in the water.

"Isn't this stupid actually?" I asked Ginny. "What do you mean y/n?" "They are doing their task but we can't see them under the water, so are we just gonna stand here for an hour and wait for them to return?" Ginny shrugged "Well, we don't make the rules I guess."

When Cedric came out of the water with Cho, the Hogwarts students applauded and cheered and a little after that, Viktor also returned with Hermione. Fleur had already given up, so only Harry was still down there.

After some more time, Ron came above the water with who turned out to be Fleur's little sister. Finally, Harry came out too and it seemed like he'd almost drowned. Me and Ginny quickly went to him, Ron and Hermione.

Professor Dumbledore announced the scores and we were happy to hear that Harry tied first place. It did tick me off a little that Cedric was also first because I was still mad at him.

Later in the Hufflepuff common room, there was this party for Cedric. I didn't really feel like partying, so I just sat in one of the couches in the corner while reading a book. There was a lot of noise but that never bothered me. I could just shut all the sounds out and keep reading peacefully.

Someone suddenly tapped on my shoulder. I turned around and saw Cedric standing with a drink in his hand. "What? Are you feeling lucky today?" I asked coldly "Or do you maybe want that kick I promised you, because that can be fixed" I said while standing up.

"Please don't do that" Cedric said as he quickly stepped back a little. I just couldn't stop myself from smiling at that. "Who's the weak Hufflepuff now huh?" I thought to myself, a little proudly.

"Look y/n, I just wanted to say that you were right." I was a little stunned when he said that, I didn't expect this. "It was wrong of me to ask you to the Ball and then treat you the way I did."

I laughed at that and said "Please Cedric, it's always wrong to treat someone like that." He sighed. "Yeah, you're right and I'm sorry." It seemed like he expected a response from me but I stayed silent.

"Anyway, I just wanted to apologise because I don't want you to stay mad at me but I also know that I deserve it." "Yeah, yeah you do" I said but I could feel my anger disappear slightly.

I sighed deeply. "Okay Cedric fine, you're forgiven." He smiled happily. "But only because I don't wanna carry all that anger with me the whole time, it's exhausting. What you did was still very wrong though."

He nodded "I know but I won't do something like that ever again." I gave him a glare that said "you better not". "Thanks y/n, you are a good person and friend" he said and I smiled slightly.

"Yeah yeah, now go back to your party, it seems like they miss you." Cedric laughed at that comment. "It's good to have you back y/n." "I know, I'm amazing" I said while whipping my hair back with my hand.

That made him smile even more. "Have fun reading y/n" he said and turned around to walk back to his friends.
