Secrets (Draco x reader)

~time skip of one year~

I was sitting in the Hogwarts Express once again, for the fifth year to be exact. I sat in a compartment with Ginny, Luna, Neville, Ron, Harry and Hermione. We had become a pretty tight friendgroup over the years.

"What's going on with you y/n?" Hermione said all of the sudden "Something's different about you." I hadn't told them yet, but apart from the shit I went through with my dad this summer, I had become an animagus.

So far, I had only told my mom because I didn't want to startle her in my animal form one day. She had said that she was proud that I had done it successfully but she also told me to be careful in my animal form.

"Well, I guess some things changed this summer..." I didn't really know what I wanted to tell them exactly, but before I could continue, I got interrupted by someone that opened the door. "Well well, the Pathetic Seven" the familiar, silky voice said.

"What do you want Malfoy?" I asked in an annoyed tone but Draco knew that it was just an act for my friends. "Oh now don't be rude l/n, I just came to say hi" he said with a grin "and to see your pretty face of course." I felt that I was going to blush, so I quickly hid it by looking away. "What the hell is he doing?" I asked myself.

I have to admit that Draco was so cute and hot at the same time. He was pretty tall and his hair looked better than before, a little more wild. His voice also seemed to be much deeper than I remembered and I liked the sound of it a lot.

"Well, you did both now, so no reason to stay anymore. Bye Malfoy" I said as I tried to get rid of him because we could talk alone later. Draco however just kept grinning at me and didn't leave.

"Is he really going to do this now, in front of my friends?" I thought which only made me more nervous. "You really should watch your tongue, l/n" he said "or you will regret it." He grinned at me more widely and with that, he left.

"Well thanks for that Draco!" I thought to myself as I rolled my eyes and faced the others to find them looking at me, curiously and confused. "What?" I asked as casually as I could.

"What- why- since when does he-" Neville asked confused. "Well since our second year of course" Luna spoke up and now everyone was looking at her. "Didn't you ever notice? The only one he's been nice to is y/n" she continued. Ginny and I looked at each other really briefly.

"Wait so Malfoy likes you?" Hermione asked and everyone was looking at me again now. That was not the question I expected to be asked to be honest. "What? No, he doesn't. He's just being friendly, that's all" I said simply. "Oh come on y/n" Harry said "It's obvious."

"Wait really? I mean, yeah we were friends but nothing more right?" I honestly didn't even know what to believe myself. I have to admit though, he was pretty hot and we were pretty close.

"Y/n?" Ginny asked, grabbing my attention and I snapped out of my thoughts. "Oh god no!" Ron exclaimed "Really y/n? Him?" "And that's why I didn't tell them about our friendship"

"Are you really falling for the Ferret?" Ron asked me. Although I was stressing a little, I couldn't help but laugh at our nickname for Draco.

"Don't be stupid Ron, of course not! But I have to admit that it's much easier like this. At least now he's not rude anymore and I don't have to be so defensive all the time" I said, but Ron still looked at me with suspicion in his eyes.

"Now what were you gonna say before he walked in?" Hermione asked, with a somewhat concerned look on her face. "It's nothing Hermione, don't worry about it." I shrugged but Hermione was still worried. "But y/n-" "Hermione it's okay, I'm fine" I say as I cut her off.

To be honest, I wasn't really feeling like telling them anymore, not about my dad or about the animagus thing. Later I would tell them I was an animagus, but not now.

We kept talking about different things and soon, the train arrived in Hogsmeade. We went to the carriages and got to Hogwarts. As we sat down in the Great Hall, each with our own house, the first years got sorted. After the feast, I talked a little with Luna and Ginny, but I ultimately went to my dorm and fell asleep.
