Secrets (Draco x reader)

Christmas break was finally over and we got to go back to Hogwarts, although I wasn't sure if that was better than the situation I was in during the break. We arrived at the school and I could catch up with my friends. We told each other about our Christmas gifts and even though I only had a few, I knew they were all from the people that cared about me most: Draco, Ginny, Luna, Neville and even Hagrid and Narcissa had thought of me. I kind of think they all felt sorry for me, having to spend my first Christmas without my family, but it was still a very sweet gesture of everyone.

A few weeks went by and things at school became harder and harder for me. I got in trouble way too often because I just couldn't put up with the way things were done these days. I spoke up and acted out too much which actually caused things to become more and more dangerous for me at school.

"Y/n, you should think of leaving school just like Neville and the others did. Try to contact them and find out where they are so you can be with them at least" Draco tried to convince me. "But Draco, you should too! I got you in trouble too much, they won't spare you if they discover I went rogue as well. Please, come with me" I tried to convince him, but he refused. "Fine, I'll do my best" I said sadly.

Class was done so I headed to the Great Hall for lunch which had gotten pretty lonely. Before I headed to my next class, I made a quick stop at the girls' bathroom to soon discover it was a big mistake. A seventh year was standing in the middle of the bathroom, completely acting off.

"Are you okay?" I asked carefully but as soon as I spoke, her head snatched up at me and I could see that she was not at all in control of herself. She snatched out her wand and pointed it at me. I gasped and got mine out as soon as I could, right in time to block her curse. She kept aggressively attacking me and eventually cut my arm, making me bleed.

"Ahh!" I yelled at the stinging pain. Suddenly, Draco came rushing in, to my biggest surprise. "What are you-" I started but the girl was not hesitating to keep fighting. "Crucio!" she yelled with her wand pointed in my direction, but Draco jumped in front of me to protect me. "Argh!" he yelled out in pain as he fell on the ground and cringed out of pain.

"No!" I yelled as I saw him in this condition.... because of me. "Please make it stop!" Tears appeared in my eyes and rolled down my cheeks as the girl only made her curse worse instead of making it dissappear. I pointed my wand at her and blasted her back into the bathroomstalls which made her fall unconscious and made her curse ware off.

Draco panted on the ground as his muscles could finally relax again. I hugged him tightly as if only that would make all his pain dissappear in an instant. I knew how the curse felt and I never wanted him to know it too. "We have to get out of here Draco, both of us" I said with tears still in my eyes. "Okay Pup, you're right" he panted out, trying to catch his breath still.

I helped him up, led him to the seventh floor and opened the Room of Requirement for us, where all the others were too. Draco was immediately put on one of the beds to rest out for a bit and I never even once left his side.

"Also had to flee?" I heard a voice behind us. It was Seamus. "Yeah, the woman got me into trouble too much" Draco said with a wink at me as I smiled at his stupid joke, glad he was doing better. "Cut me some slack, pretty boy" I joked back. "Well she won't be able to in here" Seamus chuckled slightly as he walked past us to talk to a Ravenclaw boy.

Neville immediately came to us and hugged me tight. "Oh thank god you're okay" he said in a relieved tone. "Same goes for you Nev" I said as I happily hugged him back. "What happened?" he asked as he took a worried look at Draco and I explained everything. "Well I'm glad you're both okay now at least."

We stayed at the Room of Requirement for a while and things went pretty smoothly. I did feel worse and worse every day though. I had serious mood swings and cravings, even worse than when I'm on my period! I had to throw up still and fainted a lot. The worst part of it all was that Draco didn't understand any of it and I was too scared to tell him the truth.

"Y/n, you should really try to go see madam Pomfrey, something is clearly wrong!" Draco said worriedly but I kept saying no. He got upset and wanted to walk away which is when I grabbed his arm and decided it was time. It was time he knew the truth.

Draco turned his head to look back at me but his expression immediately changed when he saw my face. "Y/n?" he asked hesitantly. "We should go talk somewhere... a little more private" I said nervously. "Y/n, you're scaring me." I sighed as I took his hand and dragged him with me to the bathroom area of the place. "Me too."

When I had checked if there wasn't anyone in there, I locked the outside door and sat myself down on the sink. "Draco" I started "there is something I need to tell you." I could see the worry in Draco's soft-grey eyes as I'm sure he could see the anxiousness in mine.

"It's okay love, I'll listen" Draco said as he leaned back against the wall, standing in front of me still. "Promise me you won't interrupt until I'm done explaining?" I asked nervously. "Of course."
