Secrets (Draco x reader)

~ time skip of a month ~

It was late in the evening when I suddenly heard loud noises coming from downstairs. I put my book down and quickly ran down the stairs as I grabbed my wand. When I came downstairs, I found my mom in the living room, trapped between the wall and - much to my disliking - quite a few Death Eaters. They were closing in on her as they kept firing curses at her while she tried her best to fight them off.

One of the masked faces turned to look at me and a mean voice sounded through the room. "Well well, seems like the daughter decided to join the party." My mom's head roughly turned to the side so her eyes met mine and I could easily read the panic and fear off of her face.

"Y/n run! Go!" she shouted over the booming sounds of the firing curses as she defended herself. "Mom no! I can't leav-" I started with a panicked tone but she interrupted me. "I'll be okay, now go!" she said with a reassuring smile. I hesitated for a second before I turned away and ran outside as I tried to hold back my tears, worrying over my mom.

After having run only a few meters, I stopped and turned back around to look at our house. I could still hear the loud bangs and I saw the light flashes of the curses. "No I won't " I thought to myself as I started running back into our house.

I burst back in the living room and started firing curses back at the Death Eaters. "I told you to run" my mom says with a quick glare as I went to stand by her side. "Yeah well we both know I never listen" I said before blasting a Death Eater though our window.

My focus was fully on the fight and getting all those assholes out of our house. My mom and I were a top team and were able to push almost every masked figure out until one of them took their mask off. "Bellatrix" I said with a mean glare as I remembered her involvement in the Battle of the Astronomy Tower "Long time no see."

I blast another Death Eater out of the house and now only Bellatrix was left. "I'd like to say I don't know who you are but unfortunately you are too good of a fighter to forget" Bellatrix said with a wicked grin on her face "We could use someone like you child."

I looked at her with raised eyebrows and said "Excuse me? No thank you." My mom went to stand in front of me defensively. "She ain't going anywhere" she said as she held her wand up firmly "especially not with you." The female Death Eater let out a maniacal laugh before saying "We'll see about that."

Before I realised what was happening, my mom pushed me back harshly and the two women were in a very intense duel. I tried to help my mom but Bellatrix yelled a curse at me which made it impossible for me to move, I could only watch and hope for the best.

Everything was looking good for my mom until a curse suddenly hit her and she fell to the ground, her body like a rag doll. "MOM!" I screamed as I tried to move. "I'll let you say goodbye to mommy" Bellatrix said amused "but eventually you will be on our side." With a wave of her wand I could move again and I hurried to my mom's body, my eyes widening as I saw the big puddle of blood that was starting to surround her. "NO!"

"See ya later darling" Bellatrix said mockingly before she disappeared in a cloud of smoke. "Y/n..." my mom said softly "You're strong okay, I believe in you." My tears were flowing uncontrollably as I was trying my best to pressure the deep wound in her side.

"I'm not letting you die mom, your life isn't over yet. I need you!" I sobbed but my mom took my hand in hers as the other one cupped my face. "It's not your fault y/n and sadly you can't fix it" she said with a sad smile "Try to make peace with it, none of this is your fault okay, so don't blame yourself."

I nodded as my tears kept flowing and I leaned into my mom's touch. "I'll try" I said with a trembling voice. "I love you honey" my mom said as the tears she had clearly been holding back now escaped from her eyes. "I love you too mom." A sad smile was plastered on her lips until her face went emotionless and her hand that had been cupping my face fell down on the floor with a dull bonk.

I cried over my mom's lifeless body for what felt like hours until I decided that it wasn't safe for me to stay at home. "Bellatrix seems to want me on their side, no way she won't come back here with her Death Eater friends to come fetch me " I thought with rising rage at the thought of that murderer.

I tried to stay strong as I slowly went upstairs and put some important things like my wand and some money in a small bag that Hermione had once hexed so now it was bigger on the inside. I hesitated a few moments before also putting the leather notebook through which I communicated with Draco in the bag and a feather with some ink.

I went downstairs again and made my way to the kitchen to pack some food and a water bottle as well. With a scared heart I entered the living room again and my eyes were immediately drawn to my mom. "I can't leave her here, not like this" I thought as I slowly walked towards her body again.

Behind our house was a small forrest in which I always played as a kid. My mom and I once built a tree house together in one of the trees close by the house so that's where I decided to burry her. I took my pocket knife and carved her name in a stick I found nearby and put it on her grave. "Goodbye mom, I miss you already."

I looked at the house and at the grave one last time before I turned into a wolf and started running. I ran away from my home, away from the grave and away from the pain.

Anyway sorry if your face is covered in tears rn but belive me, while writing this I was having a hard time too ngl
