Secrets (Draco x reader)

~time skip of one week~

Things were better again between Cedric and I. It felt good, all that anger was gone now and I was just overall happier.

When Ellie found out, she said she was happy I felt better now. Ginny and Draco were a little less in a good mood when I told them though.

I had told Ginny just casually when walking to class together. "Wait a second, you forgave his sorry-ass? Y/n, he deserves to feel guilty right now, let him have it" she had said.

Draco knew because he had seen Cedric talking to me at lunch and asked me about it. "Oh c'mon y/n, you should've kicked that asshole where the sun doesn't shine! But on the other hand, you're just too sweet to deny someone's apology."

Rventually both of them accepted that I just felt better without the anger piled up inside of me. "I really chose my best friends wisely" I thought to myself.

~time skip to the last task~

I was on my way to watch the last task when I saw Cedric walking a little in front of me. "Hey Cedric, wait for me!" I yelled through the corridor. He turned around and smiled when he saw me.

When I was caught up with him, we kept walking. "I just wanted to say... good luck out there" I said hesitantly. Cedric looked at me with a frown. "Thanks y/n... Ehm, is there maybe anything else? You seem..... I don't know, just like you want to say something."

I sighed and stopped walking. He stopped too and I looked at him. "Cedric I'm worried. These tasks keep getting more and more dangerous and I don't want anything bad to happen to you."

He smiled at me. "It's sweet of you to worry y/n, but I'll be fine, I promise." I nodded and we made our way outside.

Cedric went to stand with the other champions and I went to stand next to Ginny, Ron and Hermione in the stands.

The task started and Cedric and Harry went in together. Later, Viktor went and and some time after that, Fleur joined them in the maze.

"Okay, but am I really the only one that finds this stupid?" I asked the others. "What's stupid?" Ron asked confused. "You are" Ginny said and we all laughed at Ron's mad face.

"No, I mean that we all just stand here like idiots until they finish the task. We can't see what they're doing in there so we just look like a bunch of morons, lemme tell you that."

The others laughed at my comment. "Really y/n, you never fail to make me laugh" Hermione said while wiping a tear away.

We waited for the champions to finish their task, when suddenly there was a red light in the sky above the maze. "Looks like someone's in trouble." Some random guy standing before us said to his friend.

My heart started beating very fast. "What if it's Harry? What if something went wrong? He's too young to do this shit god damn it! Or what if Cedric's hurt or something? Bloody hell, at this point I even worry about Viktor and Fleur too!"

Fleur couldn't continue her task, so she was brought back to the stands. I was relieved to see that she looked pretty fine, she wasn't hurt really bad or anything like that. We continued waiting for the others to arrive.

Suddenly, Harry and Cedric appeared with the Cup and everyone cheered. I did too at first, but I quickly noticed that something was wrong and that feeling just got worse when I heard Fleur scream.

Cedric was lying still on the ground. His eyes were open wide and Harry wouldn't let go of him. My legs almost gave up on me when I realised what was going on. Ginny quickly catched me and sat me down on the ground.

Tears were stinging in my eyes as I could feel my heartbeat pumping through my head. "No! No no, it can't be!" Ginny hugged me to try and calm me down, but it didn't really work. "Okay y/n, we're gonna try to stand up okay?" she said softly and I nodded.

She led me to the space behind the stands and before I realised it, a pair of strong arms wrapped me in a hug as Ginny continued to hold my right hand firmly.

Draco softly rubbed my back with his hand to comfort me. I hugged him back by putting my free hand on his back and I sobbed into his chest. "How are you doing Ginny?" Draco asked softly, genuinely concerned.

I couldn't see her but I think she shrugged before saying "I'm shocked but he wasn't really a friend of mine so I could be doing worse." I felt Draco nod and he kept rubbing circles on my back.

The three of us stayed like that for ten minutes or so until I stopped crying and my breathing was more normal again. I pulled back from the hug and looked at Draco. "How did you know to-" I started but he knew what I was going to ask.

"The moment I realised the situation, I immediately looked in your direction and saw you sitting on the ground with Ginny next to you. She looked at me and made me understand to meet you here" he explained.

"Two best friends are always better than one y/n" she said in an attempt to make me smile. "Yeah, especially you two" I said and I smiled a little. Draco smiled back and the three of us stayed behind the stands for a while.

The next day, professor Dumbledore held a speech in the Great Hall. I must admit that it really was beautiful even though the news was very sad. He also told us that 'a very dark wizard' had returned.

I knew who he was talking about. It was that stupid shithead that killed Harry's parents and made his Godfather go to Azkaban for no shit. I felt angry, sad and a little scared at the same time.

Did he really have to kill my friend? Was he really having such a bad day that he was like "Oh yeah, lemme kill this kid because why not"?

I didn't know what to do with myself at the time, but during the summer vacation, I got through my grief and functioned kind of normal again.

Hey guys!

I just wanted to let you know that this will be the last chapter for a while. Don't worry, I'm not quitting the story but I'm going on a summer camp. That means I won't have my phone because we have to hand them in. I leave in an hour and I will be gone until the 31st of July. So until then, there won't be any story updates, I'm really sorry.

I did however wanna finish this year in the story before not updating for so long, so that's why you got quite some updates the past two days.
