The next morning, the tryouts for the Gryffindor Quidditch team would take place and I had promised Ginny to come and watch. I got ready and went to the Great hall to have breakfast.
When I was done eating, I walked up to Luna and we went to the Quidditch pitch together. When we arrived in the stands, Luna and I walked up to Hermione as we saw her sitting all alone and we sat down next to her.
The tryouts were hilarious to be honest. Harry seemed frustrated as he already had to deal with first year Hufflepuffs. He totally didn't know how to handle this stuff at all and it amused me so much.
He was trying to get the attention of the players in front of him but failed miserably. "Shut it!" Ginny suddenly yelled and no one dared to make another sound. "Thanks" Harry said even though he was a little stunned.
"I think he's beginning to realise..." I thought to myself. I know it sounds mean, but I really enjoyed seeing Harry struggle. He needed Ginny's help so often which made me laugh everytime.
Ron was doing pretty great, but you could see that he was very nervous. He had to compete with Cormac McLaggen for the keeper position. It was a very close call, but Ron won and got the position. I am very sure that Hermione helped him by casting a Confundus Charm over McLaggen though, but he was an annoying ass, so I didn't mind that she did.
After the tryouts, me and Luna waited for Ginny and we spend the rest of the morning together.
"For real though Ginny, Harry wouldn't have been able to do it without you" I said with a smile. "He looked so clueless, it was hilarious!" Luna smiled too "Y/n's right, Harry really couldn't have done it without you."
"Well I'm certainly glad to hear that" Ginny said as she laughed "It's nice to hear that he needs me." We laughed some more and suddenly, I remembered something.
"Hey, do you guys know who that blonde girl in the stands was?" I asked curiously "You know, the one that always cheered when Ron did... basically anything." Ginny rolled her eyes. "You're talking about Lavender Brown" Luna said calmly as always. "She has an enormous crush on Ron and makes it very obvious" Ginny said.
"Well she's annoying" I stated "I litterally just sat behind her for like what, an hour or two? And she already annoyed me to death!" Ginny nodded "Now imagine you see her every day in your common room. Every time Ron even blows his nose, she giggles. Ergh!"
"Damn Ginny, I feel sorry for you... I can't even stand her for a few hours, leave alone a whole day!" I said. "Yeah well, at least Dean can kinda get my mind off of things..." she said with a dreamy smile.
"Aha yes, how's it going with you and that boyfriend of yours?" Luna asked teasingly. "Very well, thanks" Ginny said happily. "I'm glad that you're happy Ginny, really" I said as I gave her a smile which she returned.
After some more time, we walked back into the building and surprisingly, we bumped into Draco and his friends. It seemed like Draco planned on walking past us without saying anything, but Pansy Parkinson thought something different.
"Well well well, what have we here?" she said in a mocking tone "A lunatic, a blood traitor and a weakling." I could see that Draco was having a hard time not to curse Pansy right there and then but I quickly spoke up.
"Just piss off Pansy! What did we ever even do to you to make you hate us anyway?" I asked as I tried to stay calm. Pansy laughed mockingly "How about existing? Or breathing?" Ginny balled her hands to fists and suddenly stepped forward.
"Now dare to repeat yourself Parkinson!" she said with gritted teeth as she took out her wand. "Ah! Draco, she's threatening me!" Pansy screamed and hid herself behind Draco.
"Maybe you shouldn't say things like that then" he said coldly "Or at least think before you do." He rolled his eyes and walked off. As Crabbe and Goyle followed Draco, Pansy stood there for a moment, confused about what had just happened. Then she quickly ran after the boys with the shocked expression still on her face.
"That little bitch" I cursed and Ginny turned around. "How could he not say anything about that?! Is he your friend or what?" I sighed and said "Ginny, if he had said something, his friends would get suspicious and that's not what we want."
"Oh so I was right?" Luna suddenly spoke up "You two are indeed friends?" I slapped myself mentally "Weren't you good at keeping secrets, y/n?"
"Shit, sorry" Ginny said softly. "No Ginny, don't worry" I said reassuringly "Yes Luna, we are indeed friends." I felt relieved to tell her that, even though it wasn't quite true anymore. I mean, he was still my friend, but just more like boyfriend now...
"Just know y/n, I don't hate Malfoy. I just think that he doesn't always feel as comfortable or confident as he wants others to think. I'm sure he's a good friend to you though" Luna said.
"Thanks Luna, you're a really good friend to me too you know" I said as I smiled at her. "Well I'm glad that I ain't the only one that knows anymore" Ginny said happily "Now I can gossip about you two with Luna."
"Oh god no" I said dramatically and we all laughed. Then, we went to the Great Hall and had lunch.
