Secrets (Draco x reader)

When I opened my eyes, I was laying on a bed in the Hospital Wing. I tried to move but as soon as I even lifted a finger, my whole body hurt immensely.

"Don't move too much, you fell pretty hard" madam Pomfrey said as she stepped closer to me. "You broke your right arm and two ribs and you have a severe concussion, or well you had one. I was able to heal your arm and your concussion is better but not fully gone yet."

"Wow, what the hell did I do this time?" I thought while slowly taking in all the information. "There are a few people waiting outside who would want to speak to you. I'll let them in but not for too long" madam Pomfrey said. I nodded and she walked off to let the others in.

Ginny, Harry, Hermione, Ron, Luna and Neville rushed towards me - the first two still in their Quidditch outfits - with worried looks on their faces. "Oh my god y/n, are you okay?" Ginny asked worriedly and I managed to give her a faint smile. "I'm okay, don't worry."

"Okay?" Neville asked a little sternly "You got hit on the head by a bludger and fell from I don't even know how high! How can you be okay ?" He looked at me as if he was ready to slap me across the face for saying that.

"Neville I'm fine. Madam Pomfrey already healed my broken arm and made my concussion better. I only need to deal with a light headache and two broken ribs, I'll be okay."

When they all look at me with shocked faces, I realised that they didn't know my injuries yet, or well not until now. "You have all those injuries?!" Hermione asked shocked. "I had them, yes" I said simply "But I'm fine guys, really."

They all looked at me with doubtful faces and Ron said "Well you shouldn't make this a regular thing y/n, we don't wanna make it a habit to come visit you here." I laughed a little but grabbed my ribs in pain. "Says the one who just got out of here" I replied with a smirk and Ron chuckled.

"See guys? She's okay, she can make jokes again." They all laughed and I just tried to keep it at smiling so I wouldn't feel the pain in my ribs again. I went to sit up a little straigter and right at that moment, the doors of the Hospital Wing opened and my eyes widened. "Draco?" I asked a little surprised.

"Y/n!" Draco said worriedly. "Oh this is gonna be good" I heard Ginny say softly and that's when I realised what was happening. "Okay so all of my friends are here and now Draco also walked in, but no one except Ginny knows he's my boyfriend... shit."

"What's your problem Malfoy? Piss off!" Ron said defensively and Harry went to stand in between Draco and me while Hermione stepped closer to my side. "Guys it's okay" Neville said suddenly and Draco rushed towards me as he made his way past the three musketeers.

"Are you okay? You're not in too much pain right?" Draco asked worriedly and I smiled sweetly. "Draco don't worry, I'm fine" I said reassuringly and then I could hear a confused "What is happening?" coming from Harry. Ginny just stood back and enjoyed the drama that was unfolding itself. "I swear, sometimes she's worse than Dumbledore! "

Draco and I just kind of ignored everyone else and kept talking. "Are you sure you're not in too much pain?" Draco asked once again and I took his hand. "Yes Draco I'm okay." Draco stared into my eyes for a long time until he cupped my face and gave me a soft but loving kiss.

"They're friends Harry, they have been for some time" Neville explained and the trio's jaws practically fell to the floor in shock. "They are?" Hermione questioned but Neville nodded affirmatively. "I think they're not just friends" Luna said suddenly and all heads turned to Draco and I holding hands.

"That doesn't mean anythi-" Neville started but then Draco cupped my face and kissed me. Neville's eyes almost popped out of his head as he seemed to not be able to believe what he saw.

When Draco and I parted, we kept looking into each others eyes until I heard Ginny trying to hold in her laugh but clearly failing. I looked at the others who were staring at Draco and me with open mouths and wide eyes. Neville's face suddenly turned from shocked to mad and I felt myself getting more and more nervous.

"You two are together?!" he exclaimed with anger in his voice "No way that's gonna happen, you will only hurt her! You won't-" I had had enough now and interrupted him.
"Neville enough! Yes, we are together and you're not gonna do anything about it!" I said while also getting angry "Draco won't hurt me. He's a good guy and I love him!"

I took a quick look at Draco and saw him smiling thankfully at me. I returned the smile and gave his hand a little squeeze. "But why him?" Ron asked confused and I gave him a shut-the-fuck-up look. "Ron's right though y/n" Hermione jumped in. "Oh god these two..."

"I mean, he's so mean to everyone, you know how shitty he acts towards us! And no offence y/n but you're not a pure blood, how does he not hate you?" Hermione asked as if Draco wasn't even in the room with us. My blood started boiling as the so called 'good guys' were now the ones shitting on somebody else.

"Firstly Hermione " I started already sounding pissed off "He acts the way he does to you because you guys aren't exactly friendly with him either." I saw a slight change in everyone's faces and continued my rant. "Secondly yes, I am not a pure-blood and he knows that. But do you think he minds that? If you see us here now, do you think he cares about that? Well no, he doesn't. He loves me and that's way more important than some idiotic blood status" I said raising my voice more and more.

"Plus, he was just acting to what he thought was right, to what he had leaned was right. If your parents had raised you as - I don't know let's say a hippie - do you think you could easily go against that, against the mindset you were raised with? Let me tell you, you wouldn't because it's hard to do" I said sternly and I knew I had made my point clear as I saw their less proud faces.

"Okay yes, maybe you're right" Hermione said softly and I looked at Draco again. I had noticed his face falling sad as the others spoke badly about him, but now he was smiling proudly and thankfully at me.

"Okay guys, I think we should let the love birds alone now" Ginny said while not being able to suppress a small and amused smirk. She made them all move towards the door, but Neville stopped and walked a little closer to my bed.

"Hurt her and I'll kill you" was all he said and I couldn't help but smile at the sweetly-meant gesture. "I would never do that" Draco said proudly, but I could see the slight hint of worry in his eyes which made it hard for me not to chuckle.

"Neville scaring Draco, that's something new" I thought amused. Everyone left the Hospital Wing and now Draco and I were alone.

"I guess there's no point in hiding us anymore" I said with a short but genuine laugh and Draco smirked at me. "Now I can finally show everyone how much I love you" he said and I couldn't help but blush a little. "This guy..."
