After lunch, I went to my dorm and luckily, Ellie wasn't there. I took the black leather notebook Draco had given me a little less than two years ago and sat down on my bed.
Hey Draco, can we maybe meet this afternoon? I wanna talk to you about something.
I put my ink and quill to the side and closed the book with a speeding heart. Luckily, his answer came almost immediately.
Sure darling, meet me at the Whomping Willow in an hour. I hope everything's okay.
Honestly, I didn't know if everything was okay. Since Pansy's comment earlier today, I couldn't help but wonder if she knew that I wasn't a pure-blood. "A blood traitor" that's what she had called Ginny.
I mean, I don't care if she knows, but the thing is that if she doesn't know, there is a fair chance that Draco doesn't either. I just assumed that he would know but I never actually told him my so called 'blood status'.
I didn't want to believe that him knowing would change his opinion about me, but I just couldn't help fearing it anyway. I just hoped that he knew already because I didn't want to lose him. On the other hand though, if he wouldn't want to talk to me anymore after knowing, that would be his loss.
I started reading a little but after 45 minutes, I got up from my bed and I went on my way to the Whomping Willow. I was nervous, but I also knew that I just had to ask him about it.
I was the first to arrive, so I sat down in the grass, at a safe distance from the Willow's branches. However, I didn't have to wait long until I heard Draco's soothing voice.
"Hey beautiful, is everything alright?" He sounded worried which was sweet of him, but even the nickname couldn't ease my nerves.
"Draco, I have to tell you something" I said nervously. "Sure, you can tell me anything." He was being so sweet, which only made this harder. What if he really didn't know and this would change everything?
"Y/n?" Draco asked worriedly when I didn't answer and he sat down beside me. "It's just that... I didn't really know if..." I took a shaky breath to calm myself down while Draco waited patiently for me to find the right words.
"I realised that I never really told you, so I'm not sure if you know" I said "The thing is that I'm not a pure-blood Draco, I'm a half-blood actually."
To my surprise, Draco chuckled. "What's so funny?" I asked. "Oh y/n, this is what you wanted to tell me? This is why you were so nervous?" he asked still laughing. "Yes, so?" I was getting annoyed now. Why the hell was he laughing?
"You are so cute Pup" he said amused "I already knew that, but I don't care anymore." That answer made my mind relax again. "Oh bloody hell that makes me happy" I said relieved "No offence Draco, but I thought that if you didn't know and I told you now... I just thought that you wouldn't be fine with it honestly."
"Hey don't worry, I get it. I'm trying to push those idiotic thoughts out of my head. You made me realise that blood status doesn't matter at all and I shouldn't judge people just according to that."
I smiled proudly. "God, you're so amazing Draco" I say as I look into his eyes. Draco took both my hands in his and caressed them with his thumbs. "Thanks to you I am" he said sweetly.
I frowned as he said that but decided to leave the subject alone. Draco always thought so badly about himself and I just couldn't help but wonder how he himself didn't see that he was a wonderful person.
Draco let go of my left hand and softly grabbed my chin with his right. He pulled me closer and started kissing me softly but passionately. I put my left hand on the back of his neck as I kissed him back.
We sat there for a long time, talking about the stupidest things. We always enjoyed the time we spend together. It wasn't always a lot so whenever we had time, we made the most of it.
When it was time for dinner, Draco and I left separately so no one would see us together. I ate as fast as I could and went upstairs to finish off the last bit of homework.
When my homework was done, I went to my dorm to get ready for bed. I still felt a little guilty for underestimating Draco though, so before I went to sleep, I decided to write him.
Hi Draco, I just wanted to apologise for earlier. I shouldn't have judged you so fast and assumed that you wouldn't be okay with me being a half-blood.
I closed the book and waited for his answer. When the normally black leather cover turned white, I opened it.
Don't worry Pup, I get it. Besides, I think that if one of us should apologise, it's me.
When I read that, a frown appeared on my face. "What should he apologise for? He didn't do anything wrong, right?" I asked myself.
