To say I was surprised to hear this an understatement. I knew that she wouldn't start lying now, but there was something that bothered me.

"Why didn't you mention this before?" I was waiting for an excuse, but instead she surprised me again.

"When I saw them, I didn't see two demons desperate to escape, but I did see two people in love, thankful to be together, regardless of their current location."

"Well," I said, "considering all the things that you've seen here, I'm surprised you didn't say something to Alucard before. I'm sure he'd be happy to know that his parents are together, even if they are in Hell."

"Technically speaking, you and Trevor already told him that part," she reminded. "You guys told him that those weirdos in Lindenfeld were trying to bring him back, you just didn't know about me seeing them and I didn't know what they looked like before coming here. Let's just say that it slipped my mind before now and that I'd just realized who they were."

That wasn't a lie. We had mentioned the whole thing about the priests of Lindenfeld trying to resurrect Dracula and his wife before, and she wouldn't have known what they looked like before arriving here and being shown around. It just bothered me that she hadn't said anything about seeing them before. And, as if she was reading my mind, she spoke again.

"After seeing for myself the destruction left behind by the battle you had here, do you really think it would be a great idea to tell Adrian that I'd seen his father and mother, and no matter what else could be gleaned from that revelation that I'd nearly grabbed them on my way through? Especially knowing how he felt about his father and the passing of his mother? And would I be the bad guy for mentioning this as we're about to leave?" She shifted around to help with the blending of the herbs before continuing.

"I know for a fact that Adrian misses his mother. What son wouldn't? Especially after how she died? But what good would it do if I were to tell him I had seen the father that he'd killed with his own hands along with his mother there in the underworld, and that I'd had a chance to grab their hands and bring them with me from the start, but, instead, shied away from them because I was scared and didn't know who they were? And all of these things would be said after the fact because it was when I first got here and didn't say word one before now."

When I really weighed her words I had to agree it was pointless. Granted it would have been good for Alucard to know that his parents had found each other in Hell, but it wouldn't do a damn bit of good for him to know that Y/N had that opportunity to bring them here from the beginning. I now sat and wondered how everything would have gone if they'd been brought along and how different our current plans would be with them here. My inner musings were interrupted by Y/N's chuckle.

"Could you imagine what would have happened if Adrian's mother would have met me? How much shit she would have given him because of me?" Once she said this, I had to laugh as well.

"If anything, I could see that AND hear the arguments she would have had with Dracula about letting you stay here so he could court you better." I started putting the pouches together with the small stones and other items the spell required before I said more.

"Do you think we might see them on our way back to your time?" She raised her head and looked as if her thoughts had flown off to somewhere distant before answering.

"You know, I hadn't really thought about it. I suppose that I could use the distance mirror in the hold to find them, but I would really have to ask Adrian if he wants that. I couldn't possibly do that without him knowing about it ahead of time or without his consent. That's just something I couldn't do without his knowledge." Once she'd finished blending the herbs, she took a pinch of the mixture and placed a bit in each of the pouches while I said the spell. The contents of each glowed in a blue and green blended light before I tied them shut with a bit of twine.
